PRAYER AND PRAISE

Please pray for the Lords anointing on The Hope Project, which seeks to see widespread evangelism in NZ throughout 2014. Please pray for Jeremy and Laura Herenga, who are coping with the news that Lauras dad has aggressive, terminal cancer. Please pray that the Lord would show us what He wants us to address this coming year as we review various aspects of our church life and ministry in the coming months. Please pray that the Lord would give Dianne McGowan wisdom, favour, and blessing as she leads the Children's ministry at WHAC. Please pray for the Nanjan and Carter families as Naren and Bruce are away for a significant time span. Pray for safety, and sanity (!), and support as Valasi and Keren manage their respective homes alone. Pray for the Bobo (Burkina Faso) team as it meets this week to strategize about how to evangelize the least-reached areas of Burkina. Pray for the Spirits leading in each decision

Are you new to this facility?

We know that it can take a lot of energy to attend a new church, so please note that:
The toilets are located down the passage to the right as you exit the sanctuary. The Preschool ministry begins at the start of the service in the foyer, and 3-13 year olds are dismissed part way through the service for Sunday School. Information on who we are, as well as on all of our ministries are available online at www.whac.net.nz Each week, we share a cuppa together after the service, and would love for you to stay for a chat.

Are you eager to be part of the News Room If you have a flair for presentation and a talent with the computer, we are looking for someone to take over producing our weekly newsletter. If you are interested please see Pastor Matt today. Did you know 2014 will be the bicentenary of the gospel in Aotearoa and the Hope Project is seeking to use that to share the reasons for the hope we have in Christ with every home in New Zealand through a gentle multimedia project. www.hopeproject.co.nz This is a unique project with a 'go to them' rather than a 'come to us' approach that meets people, where they're at, with a clear gospel message and inspirational testimonies. It will be creative and engaging. It will connect with people through their chosen media. It will open an amazing door for conversation. Informational meetings will be held on Tuesday 2 July, from 7.30pm at Windsor Park Baptist Church, and on Sunday 23 June, from 5pm at Laidlaw College (Bible College of NZ). Incredible India

FROM BAYLESS CONLEY

True Faith James 2:14-20 tells us the substance of true faith, What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, Go in peace; keep warm and well fed, but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. My favourite translation of this last verse is, "Faith without actions that correspond is dead." Faith must have actions that correspond with it. You can talk about catching fish, about what lures you are going to use, and how you are going to cook them after you catch them, but if you never throw a line in the water, you are not going to catch a fish. Or it's like the golfer who comes to a 3-par hole with a lake right in front of the green and says, "No problem, I can hit that green with my six iron." Then he digs out an old ratty golf ball. If he truly believes he can hit the green, he will hit his brand new $3 golf ball! For faith to be genuine, it has to have corresponding actions. MEETINGS COMING UP ... MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN AT WHAC

Ages 0-2 We have a supervised creche fortnightly in the north side of the foyer. Parents are welcome to either drop their kids off, or stay with them. The other two weeks of a month the facilities will be there, but parents will need to supervise their own children. Our Kids Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. These take place in the hall during the sermon. A notice will appear on the screen when it is time to dismiss your children.
