PREFACE

The ARD (Alta Reservation Desktop) Web Infrastructure Deployment User Guide is produced to provide guidance to End Users in the manner installing Alta Reservation Desktop Web application in accordance with Amadeus system standard requirement. This ARD Web Infrastructure Deployment User Guide will continuously be revised to keep it up to date. New PSS Implementation Project (JKTPX) will update and distribute the revision to End Users whenever needed. However, it will be the responsibility of the person who holds the copy to maintain it and insert all revisions.

Software Setting

8. When printer installation is successful,then response appears as Youve successfully added XXX99 -> printer name. 9. Check the printer setup by clicking on Print Test Page or Finish process. Output:

2. Prerequisite steps to ensure printing is working properly in ARD Web

1. The correct Java (JRE) version should be installed in the computer . Link to download site:

2. The current recommended version is 1.6.038_b05 (Java SE Runtime Environment 6u38). (Please note that Amadeus might recommend a newer version, after internal discussions.) Also make sure that the bit version of the installer is the same as the bit version of the browser. By default, browsers are 32-bit. Highlighted below is the 32-bit installer JRE. 3. If there are different versions of Java in the computer, it is recommended that they are removed, leaving only the suggested JRE version. 4. If Firefox exists in the system, it can still be used even if it is not the latest version (minimum recommendation version is 11). If desired, the old Firefox version can be updated to the latest, or the latest Firefox version can be downloaded and installed.

5. After Java installation, you can check if it is successful by going to this site:

http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp
6. If Java is not yet installed, or if it is installed but the bit version is incorrect, you will get the following screens: Internet Explorer:

7. After successful JRE installation, you might be prompted by Firefox with the following response:

8. Click on the Allow this installation checkbox and click on Continue. You will then need to restart Firefox.

9. After the restart, when you access the test page site again, you will see that your Java installation has already been detected. But you will also be prompted by Firefox again to activate plug-in for JRE:

10. Click on the drop down arrow and select Always activate plug-in for this site:

11. Please note that the screens above will only appear if Firefox does not have the correct JRE plug-in yet. 12. In Internet Explorer, when you access the test site, you should be able to see the following:

13. Once Java installation has been confirmed, make sure that the required printers are installed in Windows and also as a default printer :

14. The printers to be installed can either be a local printer or a network printer. The most important thing is that they are detected and installed in Windows, regardless of local or network printer.

3. Set-up printer on ARD Web

1. Login to ARD Web Basic, and then click settings on the left window.

3. ARD Web will be able to detect whatever printer is recognized and installed in Windows.

4. Before trying to print in ARD Web, make sure that you set your desire printer as default printer.
