Optimisation Scopes Plan Management Viewing and Modifying Parameter Values
What is a Scope?
A scope is a collection of objects that we use as our optimisation target Visualisation in the Browser, in the Navigator and on the Map Scope modification: activation adding and removing objects deleting a scope renaming a scope Scopes are visible and modifiable to all users
Creating a Scope
Select objects Use popup-menu Scope ->Create New Scope A new scope is automatically activated
A double click activates and deactivates a scope If a site is in the scope the cells are automatically in the scope too
Exercise
Create new scopes by selecting objects In the Map In the Browser In an existing Scope Add a new site from the map into the active scope Remove from the scope one of the cells of that site What can you do? Play with the scopes Create / Delete Activate / Deactivate Add / Remove objects Rename the Scope Locate on Map List to Browser Create a new scope from an existing scope

Plans
A plan is a collection of changes to the actual data If a plan is deleted all changes are lost Optimizer plans can be exported to RAC for provisioning Changes will become actual data after successful provisioning RAC plans can be imported into Optimizer New PLANNED elements can be optimised also Old or unnecessary plans should be deleted both in RAC and Optimizer Why do we need plans? Note! Plans are not limited by the scope selection

Exercise
Create yourself a new plan Use name and description to identify it as a test plan Close the plan and open it again using the tool belt icons Open another plan while a plan is still open Are there any visible changes in Optimizer?

List to Browser
Browser is used for parameter level editing and analysis Objects listed from the Map or Navigator to the Browser Profiles control the visibility of child objects Custom views Private and Public Sorting and filtering Mass modifications Export to text file in CSV format KPI visualization

Profile selection
Profile Editor
Default profile cannot be modified -> Change the profile name Select parameters and/or KPIs and/or Add child objects
Browser Profiles
New created profile automatically selected Profiles different for each parent object Profile export and import (XML) possible Export contents to CSV file
Browser Profiles
You can switch between the tree and flat view in Browser
Parameter Changes
Parameters can be changed by double clicking the cell Select from the list or type in new value Copy - Paste available through popup-menu Find - Replace in one column Changes have to be saved Unsaved changes highlighted in blue Saved changes highlighted in green Changed objects appear blue in Navigator and Browser Revert to Actual
SAVED NOT SAVED
Filtering in Browser
Complex equations can be edited with Filter Editor String filtering without comparison characters Just enter the desired string

Exercise
Select objects from Navigator and list them to Browser Select a site and cells from the map and list to the Browser Create a profile that shows all BTSs and/or WCELs of a site Backup your new profile by exporting it to XML-file Export the contents to a CSV-file
Summary Workflow
Create a new scope by adding elements into it Create a new plan for modifications Open and Close an existing plan Use Navigator or map selection to list elements to the Browser Select a parent object and profile to view parameters in Browser Modify a profile to view new child objects and parameters Modify parameter values and Save to the plan Filter to select network elements for editing
