ESSENTIAL BELIEFS The Bible

The Bible is Gods special revelation to humanity, centering on the glory of Gods grace through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, as the word of God, the Bible alone is our ultimate authority for all of life, theologically, devotionally and practically.

Faith
People are reconciled to God, not by their own good works, but through faith alone in the good works of Jesus. Therefore, someone becomes a Christian not by doing for God, but by receiving from God.

Grace
Salvation being through faith alone means that people are reconciled to God by grace alone through the substitutionary death of Jesus. Therefore, the Christians standing before God is a gift, not a reward.

Jesus
Our only hope of forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life is only gained through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not by any merit or effort of our own.

The Glory of God

The goal of our theology is that God alone would receive the glory for redeeming, adopting and empowering sinners with new life. Therefore, there is no room for selfrighteousness in the gospel, but only for boasting in the cross of Jesus. For a more in-depth survey of our theological orientation, check out the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms and/or our extended theological summary on the Creekstone website. The Creekstone ofce is located on the Historic Square at 40-B Public Square South just above the Mass Bay Trading Company. The mailing address is PO Box 1234, Dahlonega, GA, 30533.

T odays Message: How to Fulfill Your Unique Calling Romans 1 2:4-8

FOCUS: KEEPING FIRST THINGS FIRST

Message 2 of 5 How to Fulll Your Unique Calling
TODAYS BIBLE PASSAGE: Romans 12:4-8 just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. A LISTENING GUIDE FOR TODAYS MESSAGE: Main idea: Like players drafted into the NBA, Christians are people who have been drafted, or called, into a kingdom. When God calls someone, he gives that someone a gift that is to be used for the purpose of accomplishing the kingdoms mission. Each disciple has a position to play. A gift to use. A calling to fulll. What is your gift and how are you using it? I. Gift Diversity (vv. 4-5a)

II. Gift Interdependency (v. 5b)

III. Gift Functionality (vv. 6-8)

A Challenge: ________________ your gift and ________________ it.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION & DISCUSSION:

1) What is your primary spiritual gift? In what ways are you using that gift? 2) What gift do you wish you had, but dont? How can this be an opportunity to show appreciation and gratitude to those who have that gift? What if nobody had it? How do you think that gift ts with yours? 3) Discuss this statement, Mission is not easy, but it is totally worth it. Do you agree? Why or why not?
