Page 2 onwards 1. INTRODUCTION (Briefly introduce the subject of your research and explain as to and why it is important and timely. This may include the objective of the research. Be concise and try to stimulate the readers interest in your proposed research.) SUMMARY OF THE PROPOSED DISSERTATION (Summarize your proposed dissertation and relate it to the next section on the Statement of Problem.) STATEMENT OF PROBLEM (It is important that you describe as clearly and concisely as you can the problem that you would address in your research.) HYPOTHESIS (The hypothesis is stated in the form of a suggested solution to the problem. It is speculative until evidence is found to confirm or discredit it. Analyzing the problem may generate one or more hypotheses). LITERATURE REVIEW (This must indicate familiarity with the state of the art and basic data or materials on the proposed research. The data and materials may include the review of all appropriate information on the topic, e.g. al-Quran, Hadith, statutes, books, law reports, law digests, yearbook, articles, research works, Government reports etc. A review and analysis of the literature also anticipate some of the pitfalls ahead and show the readiness of the researcher to embark on the research.)

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY (Define the scope of your research and spell out its limitations. Limitation is an element, which may affect aspects of the research that fall beyond the control of the researcher.) METHODOLOGY (State the research methods you plan to use in your research. This may involve various type of investigation you may adopt to produce reliable information.) TABLE OF CONTENTS (Outline the typical contents of your proposed dissertation into various tentative chapters.) PROPOSED SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES (State the duration [commencement date, as well as completion date] of each of the specific activities you would be undertaking during the period of your study.) BIBLIOGRAPHY (Titles and facts of publication must be cited in full.) IMPORTANT NOTE: (i) The required number of words is from 2500 to 5000 words. (ii) Using fonts times roman 12 point and line spacing is 1.5. (iii) Thesis proposal in identified research areas :
