Constitution and Bylaws Southeast Tan Specialty Club Article I Name

This club shall be known as the Southeast Tan Specialty Club (SETSC)

Article II Objectives
Section 1: To promote the four varieties of the Tan rabbit. Section 2: To promote and encourage youth participation in showing and breeding the Tan rabbit.

Article III Affiliation


Section 1: This club shall be affiliated with the American Rabbit Breeders Association Inc. Section 2: This club shall be affiliated with the American Tan Rabbit Specialty Club

Article IV Membership
Section 1: Any person of good moral character and reputation with an interest in the Tan rabbit breed may become a member of this organization following completion of a signed application, payment of one years dues as provided in the By-laws and by agreeing to comply with all rules, regulations and mandates of the club. Section 2: Term of membership will be one year from the date the application and payment are received by the Secretary/Treasurer. Section 3: The Board of Directors reserves the right to reject for any cause any application for membership or renewal. Section 4: Membership shall consist of individual and family. Family membership meaning parent or legal guardian and children under 18 years of age living at the same address. Section 5. Privileges: A. Each member shall receive a free copy of the newsletter B. Each family membership will be allowed two votes and each individual membership will be allowed one vote in all matters pertaining to the club. C. Membership must be renewed within 30 days of the expiration date. Failure to renew within 30 days will result in loss of any club privileges or benefits that may have accrued prior to the expiration date.

Article V Officers Section 1: The officers of this club shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer (one position
and (3) directors. Section 2: The Officers shall be elected by the adult membership by mail ballot. Section 3: A member is eligible to run for any office if they are an owner/breeder of Tan rabbits, or have a strong interest in promoting Tan rabbits; is a current member in good standing with the SETSC for at least one year prior to running; and, is a member in good standing with ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association). Section 4: Term of office shall be as follows: President and Secretary/Treasurer 3 years; Vice President and Directors 2 years. Anyone wishing to run for an office or director position is to notify the Secretary/Treasurer of the SETSC in writing of their intent by mail or email by January 1 of the election year. Ballots will be mailed in February and tallied in March.

Section 5: All officers shall assume office April 1 and run through their term of March 31. Section 6: Vacancies in any office shall be filled by appointment by the President with board approval.

Article VI Discipline
Section 1: Charges of misconduct shall be based upon ARBA and SETSC Constitutions, ARBA show rules, and may be filed in writing with the Secretary or President. Section 2: Any member against whom charges have been filed shall be furnished with a complete statement of the charges by the Secretary or President and shall be allowed 30 days to file a reply. Section 3: The charges, together with a reply, if any, shall be furnished each member and Board of Directors for consideration. The Board may vote to reprimand, suspend, expel or acquit the member. Section 4: Any member suspended or expelled, shall not be eligible for reinstatement for one year following the date of suspension or expulsion and must be approved by a simple majority vote of the Board of Directors. Section 5: If an Officer or Director does not fulfill their duties or shows a lack of interest in Club matters, he/she shall be asked to resign by the President, or in case of the President, by the Vice President, in the same manner as outlined in Sections 2 and 3. If he/she fails to do so, the Board can declare the office vacant, and appoint a replacement.

Article VII Meetings


Section 1: The annual membership meeting shall be held in March in conjunction with the NCRBA annual convention show. Section 2: The President may call additional meetings as deemed necessary to conduct club business.

Article VIII Dissolution


Section 1: In the event of dissolution of this club, all monies and assets held by the club shall be turned over to the American Tan Rabbit Specialty Club (ATRSC) youth scholarship fund.

Article IX
Section 1: Any proposed amendment to this document must be submitted in writing to the Board or President for review. It will then be considered and passed along to the membership for vote with a simple majority of those voting for acceptance of the amendment constituting approval.

Southeast Tan Specialty Club By-Laws Article 1 Dues


Youth Membership: $5.00 per year Individual Membership: $7.00 per year Couple Membership: $12.00 per year Family Membership: $12.00 per year, plus $2 each additional person

Article II Officers
Section 1: President A. B. C. D. Presides over meetings Calls special meetings of Club and/or Board of Directors Fills vacancies of office by appointment Shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors

Section 2: Vice President A. Performs all duties of the President in the absence of the President B. Automatically succeeds to the office of the President in the event of a vacancy C. Shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors Section 3: Secretary/Treasurer A. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. Receives and acts on all membership applications. Maintains a bank account in the name of the Club. Maintains books with membership and financial records. Furnishes annual reports on the general and financial condition of the Club, reporting quarterly the financial status of the Club. Publishes a current membership list annually. Publishes a membership list prior to when nominations for office are called for. Handles correspondence and advises President on any unusual matters. Shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

Section 4: Board of Directors A. Board of Directors to consist of 3 members. B. The Board shall review the annual financial statement.

Article III Procedures


Section 1: Roberts Rules of Order shall govern the parliamentary procedure of the Club. Section 2: The order of business shall follow the order of: A. B. C. D. E. F. Call to order Reading of the minutes an financial status Unfinished business (old business) New business Discussion Adjournment
