Senior Engineer Die Follow-up Manager Process Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY Provide the necessary Tool and Die Engineering skills to the Engineering and project teams. Develop creative solutions and provide guidance to junior colleagues. Support the Company in achieving optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. Able to perform most of tasks outside the area of primary responsibility. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES This is a senior level position where colleague has reached competency in the discipline. Understands and applies concepts and is able to perform complex tasks, using independent judgment with minimum supervision. This colleague makes decisions within broad parameters.

Support the Companys mission, vision, values and goals in performance of daily activities Develop and improve Process/method plans for Sheet metal panel dies Die costing and assist in quoting process Understand customer standards related to Die and Tooling for sheet metal Prepare and/or participate in Die build scheduling Participate and/or support preparation of RFQs and selection of Die supplier Review process plans as per part quality requirements, press and customer standards Review of Die designs and participate in Die buy-offs with suppliers Interface with Tower press shops and other departments (e.g: Quality) as appropriate Interface with customers, suppliers and die build shops as appropriate Understands Tower/OEM Die design standards and requirements Troubleshoot and communicate tooling concerns to the Tool & Die supervisors and manager Visualize and comprehend all aspects of tooling, understand the relationships of factors affecting a given situation, be attentive to detail, and continually seek to improve work processes Accountable for on-time delivery of assigned work Participate in project related reviews to support the product and manufacturing teams Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization Assures compliance with central, state, local and corporate policies, regulations and laws Adherence to all company policies and procedures

Job Description
The colleague will reports directly to the Manager Process Engineering. Interfaces on a frequent basis with Engineering, Project teams, Operations, Materials, Tool and Die and Quality. Interfaces on a needed basis with external customers.

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering with tooling certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with equivalent working experience Minimum five (5) years related technical, hands on experience Shop floor experience related to die manufacturing and Try out is essential Metal stamping and Press work background for automotive sheet metal components Knowledge of metal forming and die design principles Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software Excellent organizational and communication skills Familiarity with APQP elements (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, etc) Familiarity with CAD tools (Catia, UG, AutoCad Desktop etc) Knowledge of GD&T for assembly and stamping Ability to read and interpret CMM data, SPC and dimensional data reports Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast paced work environment Ability to perform root cause analysis and team problem solving activities Ability to work well with others in a team environment Open to travel within India and abroad when needed Working knowledge of: continuous improvement, project management, facility engineering, process engineering, product engineering, equipment technology/capabilities, plant capacity and general problem solving. Fluent in English speaking. Ability to read and write in English clearly

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Duties include but are not limited to: stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk and hear. Ability to travel. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration and hazardous materials.
