Lebanon Road Report

May 8-10, 2009

What a special weekend on “the

Pike!”

First, our ladies held a retreat at Ce-

dars of Lebanon, where they met un-
der the theme “Esteeming One An-
other: Freckles and All.” Besides a severe lack of sleep, they had a wonderful time. Singing, speak-
ers, and fun filled the Friday night-Saturday retreat. Teresa Hampton spoke twice on Saturday and
so many have already told me what a great job she did. (I’m also a little biased, but Leah spoke
Friday night and did great!!!) 38 of our ladies attended, and that’s a great number, since this is
something that hasn’t been done in some time.

Sunday, of course, was not only the Lord’s Day, but also Mother’s Day. We were blessed with many
visitors present to honor their mother and celebrate her. We also had many who were away doing
the same. I tried to encourage mothers of all ages from Proverbs 31. King Lemuel simply could not
forget the “oracle” his mother taught him. Our moms have that ability. Whether a child follows the
advice or not is up to him or her, but a child will never forget the words taught by mom. Lemuel
couldn’t!

We were blessed with visitors from all over, and our attendance was back up in the right direction
again. We enjoyed the presence of 361 in our morning worship service. That’s more like it!

and helpful sermon directed toward our young people. I
