My name is Hayden Fletcher I am a Year 11 student at Roma Mitchell Secondary College and I have just completed a research project

on how cars have changed over time. For the project I decided to research how cars have changed over time because I am really interested in the topic. During this project I have learnt about how cars have changed over the years and I also learnt why they have made changes to present day cars instead of using the same ideas and resources as earlier cars. Some of the skills that I have gained from my research are that I can gather information from different sources better than I could before I started my project. During the time of me doing this project I have learnt that I dont have very good time management skills because I had to complete majority of my project during the last week of it being due. I did find that I seem to work a lot better when I am on my own and no one is bothering me, which was the reason I completed my project within a short time frame. Before I completed the project I didnt think that I was going to be able to go a lot further in life because I thought I wasnt going to finish my project, but now that I have completed it I feel that I will do much better later in life. During my project I found that the most enjoyable part was the knowledge that I gained when I had completed my research because I think it will help me later in life. I also found collecting the information quite enjoyable and I did like doing the proposal because it was the easiest part of the entire project. I think that is was probably the knowledge that I gained which made this task so enjoyable. I didnt really enjoy much of the project but there were some positives but also a lot of negatives. The thing that I disliked the most while doing my research was the amount of work that I had put into it. I disliked it because I dont have a lot of patience to try and sit down for a long period of time and complete work. The thing that made these tasks difficult to enjoy was just the amount of time that was required to do it. While I was doing my project I found that I was horrible with my organisation and my time management skills because I was losing pages that I needed to complete my project, and I left majority of my project to the last minute to be completed. If I had the chance to redo my project I would plan my work and time better and I would keep all pieces of paper in a folder to avoid losing any. I did need some assistance from my mum to complete this project but I wasnt good at asking for help. I lost interest in the project quite fast and found it hard to try and commit to it. I did find that I work a lot better alone because I had fewer distractions, as I get distracted really easily. I achieved my goals better than what I hoped for because I didnt think I would finish the project. What I learnt from this project will probably help me in the future because I would like to become a mechanic.
