OSU INTERNATIONAL APPLICATION PROCESS

APPLYING TO OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY


Once you have applied to Oregon State University, our team of experienced admissions staff will ensure that your application is processed swiftly and that you receive the correct documents, including your I-20 or DS-2019, so that you can successfully obtain your student visa for entry into the US. To apply, visit oregonstate.edu/admissions/international/apply. Step 1: Complete the Application Complete the OSU International Application for Admission, including the authorization for any third party acting on behalf of student applicant. Complete the OSU International Certification of Finances Form. Submit a bank statement and/or letter of sponsorship that is dated within 3 months of the time of application. If available, submit copy of passport ID, including dependents (if applicable). Submit US $50 application fee. Undergraduate applicants should submit all secondary and post-secondary transcripts. Grading scales should be included. If it has been more than six months since your high school graduation date, please provide evidence of activities completed since graduation (additional transcripts, updated work resume, written statement etc.). Graduate Pathway applicants should submit all postsecondary transcripts. Grading scales should be included. Degree-seeking graduate students should follow the application procedures listed on page 52 for direct admission to graduate programs. Submit all graduating certificates, diplomas, and degrees earned. True copies of the original documents are acceptable for admission purposes. If admitted, the original/official documents must be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Office of International Admissions prior to registration. English translations must accompany all documents issued in languages other than English. Submit evidence of language proficiency scores including TOEFL or IELTS. OSUs ETS school code is 4586. Not required/optional: GRE, GMAT or SAT test scores, letters of recommendation, or a personal statement. Document(s) may be submitted by upload, post, fax, or email (scanned PDFs). For all INTO OSU program students, on-campus housing is required for the first nine months of study. Graduate Pathway students are exempt from this requirement. Declaration of Finances
If it is determined that you are admissible to Oregon State University, OSU can provide you with an I-20 (F-1) or DS-2019 (J-1) only after you submit satisfactory evidence that you have adequate funds for your proposed program of study. Acceptable financial documents must have been issued (by the financial institution) within 3 months of the date the application was submitted and must accompany this form. Be sure to keep copies of these documents as you will need to present them to the US Consular Officer at your visa interview and to the US Immigration Officers at the Port of Entry. The following documents are not acceptable for the Certification of Finances: stock holdings, life insurance policies, employment letters, credit lines, and mortgages. Please note US visa regulations restrict student employment, and therefore, it is important not to rely on employment for income to offset your educational expenses. Please refer to page 78 for INTO OSU program costs or oregonstate.edu/admissions/international/cost-of-attendance for OSU degree program costs.
