Paradigm

Preserving = where neither new elements nor relationship between the elements of the problem are introduced Stretching = where either new elements are introduced or new relationship between the elements of the problem are conceived. Breaking = where both new elements and new relationships between the elements are introduced

Example Company : petronas Preserving = oil (core business) Stretching = gas , the only oil company in Malaysia that provide gas Breaking = Mesra (shop in oil station ), university (UTP), , also provide scholarship for student.

RULE OF BRAINSTORMING
Generate as many as solution as possible Dont give long explanation along with your ideas, just take them out using key words only. The more ideas you generate individually or collectively, the better the chance that you come up with and innovative solution. Wild ideas are welcome. The more odd, weird, impossible, or crazy ideas are generated, the better the chances of coming up with a truly original solution in the end.

Do not judge ideas. Do not put down ideas or the people who express them including yourself.

Brainstorming is a deferred- judgment activity. It is ideas evaluation and critical judgment come later in the creative problem- solving process.

MENTAL BARRIERS

MENTAL BLOCKS
Mental blocks are reasons (attitudes) why we dont think something different.

False assumption An intelligent mind of a good thinker :present good story :quick thinking / understanding Play / humor is frivolous There is only one right answer When we solve problem, must not assume that a problem will have only one right answer. This is serious mental block when we are dealing with other than purely mathematical problem.

#dont stop after the first answer investigate to see if answer would better. Before we can find answer to a problem, must not determine what we are dealing with.

We must find out if the problem is part of a larger problem Following the rules

CREATIVITY
