The terms E-business and E-commerce were relatively derived from such term like e-mails do.

These two terms were both refers to conduct buy and sell, offer services and some other kinds of business all over the world by using electronic medium. Its more likely, doing a business inside Internet. These two terms might have been often used interchangeably but these two terms have slight difference. Many publications and media defined and described e-business as the conduct of business on the Internet, not only buying and selling but also servicing customers and collaborating with business partners, includes customer service (e-service) and intra-business tasks, the transformation of key business processes through the use of Internet technologies. That an e-business is a company that can adapt to constant and continual change. And seemingly, some definitions were just like referring to e-commerce. But to compare ecommerce to e-business, e-commerce in general is conducting a business on internet. While ebusiness is conducting a business on Internet with some aspects. Back to their root words, business and commerce have in common but have in differed. Business is defined as a commercial enterprise as a going concern. While commerce is refers to the exchange of merchandise on a large scale between different countries . So e-business refers to conducting those buy and sell, offering services and some other kinds of business all over the different business organization by the use of internet or other electronic medium. So the term e-business is more widely used than e-commerce by some analysts and on-line business people. Based on what is in the internet, the most common result more likely says that the types and categories of e-business and e-commerce are almost the same. It seems like e-commerce categorize into many types and so with the e-business for these two term to be classified. On e-commerce, it is classified into two ways: the type of the goods sold and the nature of the participants. In the types of the goods sold, we have tangible goods, digital goods (e.g. software) and services (e.g. insurance). The businesses and the customers are the most common participants of e-commerce. Employees, government and citizen are also considered as participants. If we classify the types e-commerce based on the nature of the participants, have Business to Business Ecommerce (B2B Ecommerce), Business to Consumer Ecommerce (B2C Ecommerce), Consumer to Business Ecommerce (C2B Ecommerce), Consumer to Consumer Ecommerce (C2C Ecommerce) and so many other types can came up based on the nature of the participants. M-commerce might be popular, it is conducting a business by the used of wireless technology such as mobile phone. On e-business, there is also Traditional Consumer Business (also known as business to consumer model, or B2C), Business to Business Trade, Consumer to Business Trading, Business to Government (B2G) and Consumer to Government (C2G) that are the categories of ebusiness. There are also many other variation of categories of e-business.

Although e-commerce and e-business have similar types or categories, these two terms still different to each other. E-commerce is somewhat just a form of e- business.
