Aloha nui loa (I love you very much), and welcome to my HUNA introduction.

This HUNA introduction is NOT the book "HUNA 101" by James Venable Alexander which was recently published, and I do not want this work to be confused with the book. If you follow the "Christian" faith; please be aware that in some places I spell out how I was mistreated by SOME "Christians". I am neither insulting you or your religion (I have a great deal of respect for the gentle teachings of the man called Jesus, and the way "Christianity" was practiced in the first century CE). I only hope you will read this document with an open mind and heart and accept this document in the manner it was intended because HUNA is a WONDERFUL spiritual technology. In MY opinion the Great Mystery (Brahman, Creator, E'O, God, Jehovah, Ogedoda, Manitou, Sugmad, Wakan Tanka, YHVH, etc) reveals itself to its creation according to his/her level of understanding. If two children asked you "How does a car go?". You would tell a two-year-old child something simple "You put gas in the car and go.", but you would tell a 15 year-old child more information. You may tell this child about the internal combustion engine, drive shafts, transmissions, universal joints, etc." because the 15 year-old has a higher level of awareness. That is not insulting the two-year-old. It is only acknowledging the fact the children have different levels of awareness. Various people have differing levels of awareness too. Paul told of different levels of awareness in Hebrews 5:13-14 (paraphrased) spiritual babes need milk, and strong meat is for those of full age and can discern both good and evil. If the Buddhist, "Christian", Eckankar, Gnosticism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Shamanism, Taoism, Wicca, etc. faith works for you (answers your spiritual questions), and teaches you the way of right relationship (to love and respect your brothers and sisters); that is great. Just allow your brothers and sisters to walk the path that is right for them even though their path is different from yours. I am no guru. I do not have all of the answers. I do not have all of the questions. I am trying to share a simple and logical spiritual technology with anyone who is interested. I am a human being; doing the best I can, but writing is NOT my forte. This is *MY* brief distillation of HUNA; after taking the HUNA course from HRI (Huna Research Inc.) and reading every HUNA related book I could lay my hands on for the past few years. I capitalize the entire word HUNA because of my love and respect for this simple, and logical system. I have used several Hawai'ian words in the document; but I spell them phonetically so that you may pronounce them easily.

You do not need to use the Hawai'ian words at all if you choose not to. Here are the English equivalents 'Aumakua (pronounced owmakooa is the higher self), Uhane (pronounced oohahnee is the middle self), Unihipili (pronounced ooneeheepeele is the low or basic self) kino kanaka ( pronounced keeno canaka is the physical body), and aka (is the spirit matter of your aura). I prefer to use the Hawai'ian words; but that is just my experience. I do NOT want you to take any of this material on faith. Test the system and either prove or disprove this spiritual technology to your satisfaction. I say this in all honesty because 30 years ago *I* would not have been able to accept this spiritual technology as fact instead of someone's opinion. HUNA is experiential; so feel free to experiment to your heart's content. This document is a combination of truth and opinion. Truth: These are techniques that I have seen work MANY times. Opinion: These are the Hawaiian name of God, whether the kahunas lived by the philosophy "Harm nothing with hatred", and other factors. I believe them to be true; but I have not found material that would prove them as truth yet. Two Bears WHAT IS HUNA

HUNA is the philosophical and spiritual belief system of ancient Hawai'ians. By ancient Hawaiians; I am referring to pre-"Christian" Hawai'i before 1820 (when the Christian missionaries arrived and decimated the Hawai'ian culture). One can not speak about HUNA without adding a tip of the hat to Max Freedom Long (MFL) because he gave this system the name Huna, and he spent the last 52 years of his life trying to reclaim the lost secrets of the kahunas. MFL lived in Hawai'i from 1917 - 1932. I HIGHLY regard the writings of Max Freedom Long; but in some places he reached the wrong conclusions, or overlooked important factors. Ho'omana is the Hawaiian word for religion; but I do not believe the Hawaiians had an official name for their spirituality. I will use the name HUNA throughout this document because many people are already aware of the name, and have a frame of reference. I must mention two facts where MFL's research was involved a. It was ILLEGAL for Hawaiians (and American Indians) to openly practice their form of spirituality; until congress passed the religious freedom act in 1978! So much for the "Christians" propaganda that America was based on freedom of religion. b. MFL was a ha'ole, and the Hawaiians would not speak with him about spiritual matters; for fear of persecution.

Ha'ole was not used originally as an insult or slur against white people, as many people believe it to be. Ha'ole means breathless one, and was originally directed at the "Christian" missionaries. The kahuna pule ( poolay) were the prayer experts, and would breathe deeply to gather a surcharge of mana before prayer to aid in manifesting the prayer, and the missionaries only said the prayer. 1. In HUNA there are 10 components of a human being. a. There were three spirits (or selves) associated with a human being instead of the single soul as espoused in "Christianity" (see my notes on this later). The three selves are the Unihipili, Uhane, and 'Aumakua. b. There were three voltages of mana (Hawai'ian term for universal life-force energy); mana, mana mana, and mana loa. Depending on which of the three selves was using the energy). c. There were three aka bodies for the three selves specified in 1a. d. The physical body; the kino kanaka. e. Three selves, three voltages of mana, three aka bodies, and the kino kanaka. 3+3+3+1=10. Ok. Back to the three-self thing. Many different cultures around the world share the same perception. The Jewish kabbalists (I do not remember the names the kaballists used at The present time). The more I study the kabbalah, the less I seem to understand. In the kabbalah is a practice called the tree of life; there were three pillars that hold the 10 sephiroth. One was the middle pillar, the others were the pillar of severity and the pillar of mercy (if memory serves). The Lakota Indians for whom the spirit was (nagi), the soul was (nagapi), and their totem (power) animal. To Mongolian shamans they are called ami, suns, and suld. How about the treiskele symbol of the Celtic people? It shows a three-in-one symbol. How about the Druid symbol; the "three drops of awen"? It also shows three-in-one symbol. Thanks to J.S. for this three in one symbol that I was unaware of "Even the valknut of the Vikings is 3 triangles overlapping into 1 triangle." 2. The secret to HUNA is in bringing the three selves into harmony. When you craft an effective HUNA prayer action; each of the three selves has a distinct job to do. If the three selves are out of harmony; your prayer actions are likely to fail. You have to merge the three levels of consciousness. Your Aumakua protects and guides your through

life. Your Uhane needs to grow spiritually, and train your Unihipili. Your Unihipili does not like to be forced into paths that are outside the Unihipilis realm of experience. So to encourage your Unihipili to walking this path; you need to be spiritual part of the time, then do things occasionally that your Unihipili enjoys; so your Unihipili will not feel that you are treating it with respect. a. Your Unihipili Enters the fetus at conception. Is located in the solar plexus. Has an aka (spirit matter) pattern for the body, and uses this pattern as a mold for the kino kanaka during growth and uses mana for healing the body according to the aka pattern. Unfortunately; as the Unihipili is taught complexes of guilt, sin, shame, and other complexes and fixations; this perfect pattern breaks down, and we develop sicknesses and illnesses. Maintains the reactions beyond your conscious control (heart beat, digesting food, releasing hormones, etc). Uses basic mana. Generates basic mana from the air we breathe, liquids we drink, and food we eat. Gathers a surcharge of mana while performing the ha rite (see below), then the Unihipili sends the mana surcharge and prayer picture to the 'Aumakua. Keeps the memories of the present incarnation. Rules our emotions. Maintains complete control of the kino kanaka. Depends on rituals (drinking coffee every morning, smoking cigarettes, uses drugs because of a perceived need, worships God in the same way every time, prays the same way, or any habit). Unable to use language (but communicates with images or emotions). If your Unihipili feels unloved or unvalued; it can rebel like a child (by not cooperating with your directives, recall memories when you need them, you may become a klutz, you may have accidents (accidentally cut, or burn yourself, and even go so far to have car accidents). I know some may scoff at the idea that the Unihipili resides in the solar plexus instead of the brain, and healthy skepticism is fine. Have you ever been startled by a loud noise (gun fire, fire crackers, etc; and you feel all of the energy drain from your body, and you feel a funny feeling at the top of the stomach. That is the Unihipili kicking into the fight or flight reaction. So far; scientists have not been able to find and define consciousness in the brain or anywhere else for that matter.

Many recipients of organ transplants have experienced memories or cravings of their organ donor or even remembering or dreaming the organ donor's name. b. Your Uhane Takes it's place full time when child is about 7-9 years old. This is an average. Resides in the brain. Ramps basic mana into mana mana. Ability to reason. Limited emotions (grief). Ability to speak and use language. Trains your Unihipili to react without conscious thought (defending yourself via martial arts, drive a car and quickly slam on the brakes or swerve the car to avoid an accident). Decides what is to be prayed for. It does this by creating a prayer picture (visualization). The visualization must be chosen carefully. See the problem as already solved. This allows the 'Aumakua to use the path of least resistance to reach the goal. If you visualize the problem as improving, you are going to continue to manifest the problem.) Perhaps other tasks. c. Your 'Aumakua Takes it's place at birth (before birth; the Mother's 'Aumakua protects and guides mother and child or children.). Resides inside the aura between six inches to three feet above and slightly behind the head. Is our link to the divine. Serves the same duties of guardian angels for "Christians", or totem animal for native Americans). Works to answer prayers. Takes basic mana and ramps it up to mana loa. Mana loa can literally dematerialize flesh and bone into aka matter, and re- mold it as flesh and bone as if the injury had never happened.

Before you are able to see these miracles happen; you MUST clear the complexes and fixations from your Unihipili. As the child is taught complexes and fixations; the aka cord between the Unihipili and 'Aumakua becomes blocked. Creates the kind of future we tell it we want (by our thoughts). If you want a better future; change the way you think, and give mana surcharges to your 'Aumakua so it can work on the physical plane in your behalf. Maintains memories of all previous incarnations, much older and wiser than the Unihipili and Uhane. Has a perfect pattern for the kino kanaka (This is how instant Healings occur; by using the perfect pattern of the kino kanaka stored by the 'Aumakua instead of using the damaged pattern held by the Unihipili). Will not violate the free will of the Uhane or Unihipili except briefly to prevent life threatening accidents. Just about ANYTHING is possible if it maintains harmony and is in the person's best interest. d. Aka substance. I thought I should add another section about aka (spirit matter). Aka is the substance your aura is made from. When you think of a person or place; you send out a an aka cord to that person or place (distance is no problem where aka is concerned.), and through these aka cords; you can direct mana, mana mana, or mana loa to heal a person, drain a person of energy, read their thoughts or emotional state, or influence them by projecting thoughts and emotions to the person. Now before you get the idea to use mana and these aka cords to influence people against their will; always remember the one HUNA commandment "Harm nothing with hatred.". I can speak from experience that what you send out comes back to you. The young carpenter said "ye reap what ye sow.", the law of karma, and the Wiccan rede have the same teaching. 3. The Ha rite. Cup and hold your hands so that your finger tips are about an inch or two apart, and spread your fingers so none of them touch one another (this prevents you from grounding the energy back into your body). While breathing deeply and SLOWLY use the intent of building a surcharge of mana between your hands. You should strive to control your breath to 5 breaths a minute or less (compared to the normal 15-18 breaths a minute), because the longer the oxygen is in contact with your lung tissue, the more mana you extract from it. Tradition is to use four sets of four breaths or even 10 sets of four breaths to build a mana surcharge for the prayer. Visualize your prayer picture as if it were the cover of a balloon in the area between your hands. The more mana you pour into the prayer picture the brighter and more realistic the prayer picture becomes. Use intent to put mana into the space between your hands. You may want to visualize a sparkling gold/amber mist forming between your hands. At first you may

think it is only imagination or coincidence, but the more you work with mana; the more you will come to experience mana is something real instead of your imagination or coincidence, and help you develop faith. There are MANY ways to do a ha rite, and all of them work. All a ha rite is; is breathing deeply with the intent to accumulate a mana surcharge in the kino kanaka before prayer, then select a prayer picture (if you are not visually oriented; holding the single intent in your mind will work just as well), then send the prayer picture or intent and mana surcharge to your 'Aumakua. It need not be more complicated than that. There are four things to consider in crafting an effective HUNA prayer action. a. Does the prayer picture maintain harmony and balance? By maintaining harmony. Does the prayer imply that you want something that already belongs to someone else? b. Choose the visualization as if the prayer has already been answered. By visualizing the prayer as already been answered; you allow your 'Aumakua to get there by the best means that allows you to fulfill your mission. By visualizing the prayer step by step; you are micromanaging the process in directions that may not serve your highest good. c. The amount of mana you send with the prayer picture. Your 'Aumakua is in the realm of spirit, and in order to work on your behalf on the physical plane; it needs these mana surcharges. d. Do NOT dig up the seed. By digging up the seed; I mean do not change your mind about what you want before the prayer manifests. My favorite example is a person that wants a Jaguar automobile but changes his mind and wants a BMW. When you change your mind; your 'Aumakua has to undo everything it had done toward the manifestation of the Jaguar, and start over to manifest the BMW. If you are working on a large goal such as a new car, house, etc, and you want to send more mana to help in manifestation, use the SAME prayer picture (THIS IS IMPORTANT) so your 'Aumakua does not have to undo what it has already done toward your goal and start over again. There are other breathing patterns that build a mana surcharge much more quickly; but I hesitate to teach those breathing patterns to beginners with no energy work experience. After using this method of gathering mana surcharges for a few months; feel free to E-Mail me for these more advanced breathing patterns. When you feel the mana surcharge growing between your hands, you will feel a pulsing, tingling, heat, or a dense force between your hands.

When you are satisfied with the mana surcharge, and prayer picture pr intent, expel a quick burst of breath and visualize it going around the prayer picture and the mana surcharge binding them together. Then separate your hands and allow the prayer picture and mana surcharge to float away to be taken by your 'Aumakua. One last comment about manifestation of prayers. Do not expect to wake up one morning with the car parked on the drive way, or be awarded a bonus where you can buy the car. The car could manifest any number of ways. a. A friend buys the car but wants to sell it because it is not powerful or fast enough for them. b. You may be in the right place at the right time to get the deal of the century on a previous year model. c. A friend or relative may tell you where to find a car they think you will like at a bargain. d. several other methods. 4. To do a HUNA healing. Do the ha rite, and place your hands where the person reports pain (if this is a private area (the breasts or genitals) place your hands about 4-6 inches above the body; but still inside the persons aura) and visualize the person as completely well and healthy, but send the mana surcharge and prayer picture to the person's 'Aumakua instead of the person. Their 'Aumakua will ramp the energy to mana loa, then back through your hands to heal the person. Should the person report pain in another place; move your hands to the new location where they report pain. You are NOT the healer. The higher powers and the person's Unihipili do the healing. The only credit that we "healers" deserve; is for gathering the mana surcharge and choosing a good prayer picture. If the healing does not appear to be doing anything; the problem may be with a fixation in the person's Unihipili. Just in case the Unihipili is blocking the healing; ask the person to tell you an activity they enjoy; but they cannot do now because of the ailment; then change the prayer picture where you visualize that person doing that activity in complete health. If you see results after you get the cooperation from the Unihipili to heal the person; then assist them in clearing the fixation "The Unihipili's belief that it deserves to be sick". By doing the technique above, I have seen people flush beet red from the top of their head to their waist in only minutes. HUNA is my favorite healing modality! This is saying something when I have studied more than 12 natural healing modalities, and received mastership or higher in 8 of them. 5. There are spiritual powers above the level of the 'Aumakua.

The Po'e 'Aumakua (these are the great company of souls that have passed over to the realm of spirit and do not need to reincarnate on the physical plane), the akua (deities acknowledged by the Hawai'ians). There are other levels above the Akua before getting to the single creator. The name is sometimes spelled AEO, EO, E'O, IAO, or IO. In my opinion; E'O is the correct spelling; based on the Hawaiians use of the glottal stop placed in words and names between syllables (where the first syllable ends with a vowel, and the next syllable begins with a vowel. Here are some examples of the glottal stop in names (Ai'ai, Aila'au, Ha'inakolo, Hi'iaka)). The glottal stop is pronounced as a brief pause. The Hawai'ians believed the spiritual powers above the Akua were beyond human comprehension. After some of my experiences with these higher powers, I agree with the ancient Hawaiians completely! MFL never acknowledged the Akua or higher spiritual powers in his series of books. He was too busy trying to turn Jesus into a kahuna. 6. Clearing complexes or fixations. A complex is your Unihipili holding onto wrong ideas about sin, guilt, shame, fear, etc These were put in your Unihipili by your parents or guardians, authority figures (ministers, doctors, teachers, etc then reinforced by your Uhane. If your Unihipili feels, guilty, ashamed, unloved or unworthy of receiving help from the higher powers, it will not send the mana surcharge and prayer picture to your 'Aumakua. A terrific example of a complex is how parents, guardians other authority figures brainwash a child into accepting the notion that they are stupid, will never amount to anything, etc, then our Uhane's reinforce those complexes by our thoughts such as "I can't do that", "That is too hard", "I feel miserable", etc. Negative self talk is very damaging to your Unihipili. Please use caution how you deal with impressionable children. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.". Hurtful words are almost impossible to heal; because they can be held by the child's Unihipili for the rest of their life; unless they learn how to remove those faulty programs from their subconscious mind! This spiritual technology is the best method I have found (so far) to erase those faulty programs. The paragraph above is from first-hand experience. My guardians were "Christian", and they could not cope with a psychic child that did not have the sense to keep his BIG MOUTH SHUT. A fixation is the Unihipili holding on to the wrong idea about money, your poor health, bigotry for another race, etc. Fixations are generally implanted by your own negative self talk. Let me take a moment to go into one complex, and one fixation. Then you can do the internal work on the other complexes and fixations as you become aware of them. Many people are aware of the alleged "10 commandments, and the commandment "Thou shallt not kill." Your Unihipili has very limited reasoning ability, and takes such decrees from

authority figures (parents ministers teachers, etc.) literally. There are no "BUT or EXCEPT clauses in that commandment. We kill every day of our lives. The animals and vegetables we eat for food, and the millions of viruses and bacteria that are destroyed by our immune system every day. In my opinion; the world would be a more harmonious and healthier place if children were taught the one HUNA commandment "Harm nothing with hatred." I am sure that you have been told as I was "If you get your feet wet; you will catch a cold. Our Unihipili takes such statements literally, and will cooperate with such decrees and manifest illness; but you deserve to be healthy. Generate a surcharge of mana between your hands with the Ha rite, and say an affirmation such as "I deserve to be in perfect health", then push the ball of mana in your solar plexus. By stating the affirmation, and providing the surcharge of mana, you convince the Unihipili that the Uhane is an authority figure, and your Unihipili will begin to cooperate with your wishes. I am also sure you were taught as I was "It is more blessed to give than receive.". This wrong idea causes both people to be out of harmony (the giver because of perceived duty, and the receiver from a status of inferiority). Max Freedom Long recommended doing good deeds for others so the Unihipili will feel worthy of requesting help from the 'Aumakua and Po'e 'Aumakua. This technique did not work for me; but may work for you. I developed a ritual to help persuade my Unihipili to release those old patterns that no longer served me. This little ritual set me free. You may want to give your Unihipili a name in order to make it feel valued and develop a relationship with it. MFL reportedly called his Unihipili "George". Several HUNA authors recommend the name Subby (for sub conscious). Personally; I find the name Subby to be an insult because it sounds as if the Unihipili is subservient; but that is just my opinion. The name you call your Unihipili is entirely up to you; but I would suggest using a pendulum to see if your Unihipili likes the name. A good way to identify complexes and fixations is to use a pendulum. Teach your Unihipili which way to swing the pendulum for yes, and the way to swing the pendulum when the answer is no, then talk to the Unihipili and ask if you have a complex on sin, guilt, shame, etc, or fixations on lack of money, health problems, etc. It is normal for the Unihipili to ignore you requests to communicate at first because many people have ignored the Unihipili for years, and it may not take your request to communicate seriously, so keep using the pendulum until the Unihipili begins cooperating. This is the ritual to clear complexes and fixations. I would identify a complex or fixation to work with, such as sin. Then take a piece of paper, (a small post-it note will work perfectly). Take a pen and write the name of the complex or fixation on the paper. Use big ugly letters to evoke emotion. Hold the paper between your hands and perform the ha rite, and visualize filling your body with mana (a sparkling

gold/amber colored mist works well for the visualization), and use the intent that the mana will drive the complex or fixation from the body, so see the complex or fixation as black smoke running down your arms into the piece of paper. When your body is full of mana, and the complex or fixation is completely in the paper, expel a quick burst of breath and visualize the breath going around the piece of paper; trapping the complex or fixation inside the paper, then burn the paper, and tell your Unihipili that the complex or fixation has been destroyed by the fire. For a while, your Unihipili will try to remind you to feel guilty about some perceived wrong (the Unihipili is much like a computer; in the fact that it only knows what it has been taught by your parents, guardians, or your Uhane. The Unihipili has the reasoning ability of about a five-year-old Child (unable to link cause and effect)). Gather a surcharge of mana in the kino kanaka and gently remind the Unihipili that the complex or fixation was destroyed by the fire. Another good technique would be to transfer the complex or fixation into a rock then either burry the rock in the dirt or throw the rock into a lake, Pond, or stream; so the negative energies may be transmuted by Mother Earth. If this is not realistic; burry the rock in a flower pot. This spiritual technology works because the Unihipili is unable to discern the difference between a real and an imagined event, and the space that WAS filled by the complex or fixation is now filled with mana and you do not leave an empty vacuum for the Unihipili to fill with another negative habit. 7. Now that You have a decent understanding of the how and whys of HUNA, I need to briefly touch on some subjects. a. It is important that you forgive the people that you perceive to have wronged you. Mana is wasted when your Unihipili, and Uhane holds onto grudges, or attitudes like "I'll get even with so and so." Clear the complexes and fixations from your Unihipili and watch the world LITERALLY change in front of your eyes! I am fully aware the previous sentence sounds like a clich, but it isn't. 30 years ago; even I didn't like me. b. It is important to learn positive speech and keep a positive mental attitude. The old motto is "If you can't say something nice about someone then don't say anything". By learning and mastering positive speech and mental attitude; you WILL change the way your Uhane and Unihipili thinks, and you will stop diverting mana, and mana mana in old thought patterns that no longer serve your highest good. Some HUNA authors go so far that we should not even disagree with others. That is impossible. The HUNA commandment is "Harm nothing with hatred" we can agree to disagree with others without becoming disagreeable, and there is no need to take the disagreement to the level where the parties hate one another. c. The Hawaiians would increase their mental concentration by memorizing extremely long prayers, chants, or lineages of kings, and they would spend hours or even a day or two chanting, and they had to be able to complete the entire prayer or chant without a single error. You can improve your mental focus by spending time in meditation, memorizing poetry (if this appeals to you) or other tools to develop your ability to concentrate.

Meditation does not need to be a complex practice like Zazen, Transcendental Meditation, Actualism, or others. A simple meditation would be to place an object in front of you (apple, orange, key, etc), and look at it until you are aware of every curve or blemish on the object. Now close your eyes and try to visualize the object as completely and vibrant as you can in your mind. I would recommend for you to hold a stopwatch in your hands and start the stopwatch when you visualize the object, then stop the stopwatch when the visualization begins to lose focus or change shape. Open your eyes and see how long you were able to maintain the image in your mind. If you were able to maintain the image more than 30 seconds for the first time congrats! Then look at the object again and hold the image in you mind as long as you can, and keep it up till you spend 10-15 minutes a day to strengthen your mental focus. You should keep strengthening your mental focus until you can hold the image in your mind for 10 minutes. After you reach the 10 minute threshold; choose more complex images to hold in your mind. Here are my favorite techniques to strengthen my mental focus. 1. Counting backward from 500 to 0 by 3s (500, 497, 494, 491, 488, 485, 482, 479, 476, etc). If you make an error; start over at 500 again (spend about 10 -15 minutes a day in improving your mental focus. I like this mental exercise because the mind is less likely to wander. 2. Memorizing music for a musical instrument so you can play the music without sheet music (I play the Native American flute.) Exercises to strengthen the mental focus are very important because the longer you can focus your mind on one goal like a laser; the longer you will be able to direct mana to your goal. d. I have suggested using a pendulum. The pendulum does not need to be a complex or expensive arrangement. A simple 12 inch strand of thread tied to a weight such as a key, ring, etc. will do. Hold the thread at various lengths until the weight swings easily. Then tie a knot in the thread so you can find the best length every time, or cut off the excess thread. e. You will need to cut the aka cords occasionally (I would recommend cutting the aka cords before and after a healing). Every time you think of someplace or someone, you send out an aka cord to the place or person. These aka cords can drain mana from you, so gather mana on your hands, and use the intent of cutting these aka cords, and move the hands as if they were knives to cut the cords. If you are going to be doing healings on several people; an efficient way to sever the new aka cords is for you to turn your hands where the finger tips rest on the heel of the hand rests on the heel of the other hand (with your finger tips pointing in opposite directions; then quickly pull your hands apart where the palm of one hand rubs the opposite palm and fingers. Use the intention to cut the aka cord between yourself and the last person you did a healing for. Gather another mana surcharge and then work with the next person. f. Sooner or later you may have to deal with the subject of psychic protection. The Hawaiians planted ti plants around their dwellings (ti plants are so high in mana that the kahuna pule would perform exorcisms by dipping a ti leaf in sea water and

sprinkling the person with the sea water charged with mana from the ti leaf), and they would set a wooden statue on either side of the entrance, and have the kahuna pule (prayer expert) to charge the statues with mana loa. Not all of us can live in Hawai'i and protect our dwellings with ti plants, but we CAN charge the outside walls, doors, and windows with mana loa occasionally. Should you need to clear evil or negativity from a dwelling or person, charge salt water with mana loa and sprinkle the water with a pine branch on the floor of the dwelling. Pine is also high in mana. You could also protect a house by charging salt with mana loa and sprinkle the salt in your home. Before doing any of these techniques; wait to dusk or dark so the evil or negative entities will not be harmed by the bright light of day. If you are forced to do a cleansing in the day time; provide the entities with a sea shell, rock, or piece of wood to hide in, while doing the cleansing, then take the object in the woods and leave it where the bright light of day will not hurt the entity. If you have either a pine bonsai tree or a ti plant in your bedroom; you are likely to have a hard time falling asleep. For psychic protection you can carry a tumbled piece of amethyst and obsidian in your pocket. Iolite and Moldavite are good for strengthening the aura. g. It is not practical to do multiple Ha rites a day to manifest large goals that take a while to manifest, so I would suggest a method called treasure mapping. Around your house and your place of work, set items that remind you of your goal. When you see the items they will remind you of your goal, and you will add some mana to the Ha rite you did earlier. h. Mana can be used for almost anything! Use it for healing, manifesting prayers, weather modification (YES WEATHER MODIFICATION), influence vicious dogs to ignore you, etc. Yes, it is possible to modify the weather. I have prayed for the weather to change and it has, many times. The American Indians modified the weather for millennia. Even First Kings 18 tells of Elijah praying for rain, and his prayer was answered. This is weather modification. Remember hurricane Lili in 2002 which was in the Gulf Of Mexico? This hurricane went down from a category 4 hurricane to a category 2 hurricane Overnight, and went down to the level of a tropical storm before landfall. The weather people were expecting Lili to get stronger because of the warm water in the Gulf of Mexico. Myself and many, many others were praying that Lili would break up before land fall. Now I need to spend a moment in discussing the boomerang effect of using mana consciously. If you use mana to help yourself and others, good things will come back to you. And if you use mana in attempts to manipulate people against their will (even if you think it is the best for them), you will suffer the consequences.

Charlotte Berney lists a HUNA vow on page 72 of her excellent book "Fundamentals Of Hawaiian Mysticism. (the best HUNA book in print (in my humble opinion)). I say that if you approach the world around you in the spirit of aloha, and live your life according to the one HUNA commandment, "Harm nothing with hatred." you will live the HUNA vow without even thinking about it. 8. This is a quick 101 introduction to HUNA. I would HIGHLY recommend you supplement this knowledge by buying one or more of the assorted HUNA books in the bibliography. In the future, do your best to live by the one HUNA commandment "Harm nothing with hatred." If I had done the research Max Freedom Long did, I would not have called this system HUNA (meaning secret). I would have named this system Pule me mana. 9. I must point out a few errors in assorted HUNA books. Please do not think the issues I am discussing below; is bashing the writings of MFL or other HUNA authors in any way. Considering all of the factors working against MFL; I am amazed he got as much right as he did. a. MFL sincerely believed there had to be a direct lineage of teachers to pass this spiritual technology from generation to generation. He overlooked the role of the mystics or hermits that would go into the silence to learn spiritual truths via first hand experiences. Thanks to MFL and other HUNA authors; they left us a complete and very powerful spiritual technology. I am doing what I can by distilling this spiritual technology into a brief document that can be read in one sitting. b. MFL believed that the man called Jesus was an initiated kahuna. The man called Jesus was an essene, and a kabbalist. The kabbalah is the mystical tradition of Judaism, and they have meditations where the person invokes more and more light (from the Creator) into the practitioners body. I am sure many of you have heard of the kabbalist exercise called "The Middle Pillar" This is one of the most important meditations used by kabbalists. c. MFL sincerely believed that Hawaiians were one of the lost tribes of Israel. This is a physical impossibility. for several reasons. 1. The Israelites had a written language thousands of years ago. The Israelites had the Torah, the Talmud, the book of Zohar, and many other texts by the assorted prophets. The Hawaiians did not have a written language before the missionaries arrived in 1820. 2. The Israelites worshiped ONLY the Creator (according to their understanding). The Hawaiians knew of the Creator E'O; but did not work with the spiritual powers above the Akua because they considered the spiritual powers higher than the Akua to be beyond human comprehension.

3. The Israelites viewed the Creator as a jealous and wrathful God; who demanded blood sacrifices. The Hawaiians offerings were generally flowers, food, tobacco, awa, a rock wrapped in a ti leaf, or some alcoholic beverage such as whiskey, gin, etc There was only one deity who requested blood offerings (human sacrifices), god Kuka'ilimoku (god of War); but the people were free to work with any of the Akua, the Poe 'Aumakua, or just their 'Aumakua. Generally the Hawaiians did not work with the Akua unless they had an emergency situation. You may find that pigs were offered to Pele; but these were not sacrifices as you would normally think of as sacrifices. The pig was cooked, and Pele was asked to take the essence of the food; then later the meat provided food for the people too. 4. To accept the notion that Hawaiians are a lost tribe of Israel; one MUST accept that they lost ALL of the following factors in one transoceanic voyage. a. They lost their spoken language b. They lost their written language c. They lost their form of spirituality d. They lost their most holy name of God e. The Hawai'ians worked with their Aumakua. The Poe Aumakua, or the assorted Akua; when Israelites would not do that. I dont believe it because the Israelites had not lost these factors by being held in bondage in Egypt, Babylon, and on several other occasions, and lastly; Adolph Hitler and the Nazis murdered more than 6 million Israelites during the Holocaust. f. MFL, William R. Glover, and others thought there was no aka cord between the Uhane and 'Aumakua for direct communication between those two selves. Every time you think of your 'Aumakua; your Uhane sends up an aka thread between the Uhane and 'Aumakua. Just because there is no cord between those two selves in the beginning; An aka cord IS built over time to complete the connection between the three selves. Now prayers must go indirectly through the Unihipili because the Unihipili MUST have the kino kanaka breathe deeply to gather the mana surcharge for the prayer action.

Some of these stories will sound like science fiction. All I ask is that you open your heart and mind and experiment for yourself instead of taking my word or the word of anyone else on faith.

HUNA technique to fall asleep by D.C.

The first time I tried a ha rite, I visualized a bunch of stuff that I really wanted. That night as I went to bed, I had a strange energy (I have practiced a lot of meditation and some qigong, so these energies are not totally foreign to me), a buzzing in my right arm was not letting me relax enough to really get to sleep. I knew I could not relax very much, much less get to sleep. Then I instinctively put my hands into the ha rite position and visualized all the nervous energy going into a ball of energy in my hands. Then I swung the energy ball into my right hand and reeled it back like I was winding up for a baseball pitch, and threw it out the window! I relaxed pretty quickly and fell right to sleep. Since then I use a ha rite whenever I have trouble sleeping, which has been a chronic problem of mine, and I get to sleep much faster. Thank you for sharing this HUNA experience. HUNA is limited only by your imagination. Two Bears

HUNA Healed My Mothers Knee! by M.H.

Aloha nui loa dear readers; Im a music teacher and Master of two forms of Reiki. I have personal experience with a few different forms of energetic healing (therapeutic touch, deprogramming" etc). Ive been studying HUNA and Qigong with Two Bears for about 4 months now. During that time, Ive experienced so many incredible, miraculous successes using HUNA healing techniques that Ive now come to agree completely with my instructor. HUNA is, in my experience to date, the most powerful and complete energetic healing technique on the planet! Ive had so many badly-needed HUNA successes with myself! Including relief from the lifelong pain and sensitivity in my teeth, instantly healing a scalded hand a few days ago, ease of scheduling my students and greater confidence/success at work, even (with Two Bears generous help!) healing a slipped disc in my back that I'd been suffering with off and on for years. Now I can walk, bend, lift, even dance like a kid again. No kidding!! But my favorite story is about my mothers formerly sore knee. My mother is a devout Roman Catholic. While she has experimented with various alternative therapies all her life (herbs, reflexology, iridology, Silva mind methods), shes always been skeptical about energetic healing techniques like Reiki and HUNA. Like most people, her natural skepticism is only healthy and logical. The only way to overcome it is to actually try the techniques for yourself and watch them work. Im so glad she finally did! My mother injured her knee many years ago in a bad fall, and its been causing her pain ever since. As shes almost 70 now, and her job often requires many hours of standing on her feet waiting in airports, this has become more and more of a problem for her. A few weeks ago, I told her about how HUNA had repositioned the slipped vertebrae/disc in my back. At first she just laughed at me, but soon she could see for herself the difference in the way I move and walk. That convinced her to finally ask me to use my HUNA to heal her knee.

So I did Ha rites for her over the next couple days. She did experience a measure of relief, but it was sporadic until Two Bears offered to work on her with me. In all honesty, that knee hasnt bothered her AT ALL since we worked on her together, doing a distance healing that night! She was just incredulous and so grateful; keeps telling me how strange it feels not to be suffering with that painful leg and knee any more, after so long! Since that initial success with both of us working on her, Ive been continuing to do the Ha rites for her every day to help maintain her energy level and the healing that was accomplished. She is so pleased! She told me the other day she almost feels guilty that she barely remembers the pain any more, doesnt want to start taking the healing for granted. Shes now let the whole family know about what HUNA has done for her knee. They all look at me with a new measure of respect these days. J My father is so pleased at the change in her, hes asked me to try the HUNA techniques to relieve the stiffness in his legs (hes had two hip replacements). So Ive got them both on my pray for list these days. And I just love it - not only that my parents are feeling so much happier and healthier, but that Im no longer scoffed at or ridiculed! My mother understands now that HUNA does not conflict at all with her Catholic faith or the teachings of Jesus. She is studying some the HUNA material Two Bears recommends on this site so that she can do the Ha rites for herself. Wonderful! I wholeheartedly recommend learning the easy and powerful spiritual technology of HUNA to anyone open to trying something different, anyone interested in improving the quality of their life - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially too! All it takes is a bit of knowledge and the honest willingness to work on yourself. I am so grateful to Two Bears for all his help, expertise, advice and generosity, for making these teachings available on the net. Im so glad I found them, and now so is my whole family! Holy HUNA! Thank you very much for sharing these incidents with the readers; but I need to speak on two issues. 1. Just to be fair to the readers; I scanned your spine energetically (from 2000 miles away). When I felt the energy disruption in your lower spine, then viewed the problem clairvoyantly, and was shown a disc that was slightly out of place. Then I did a ha rite and visualized your spine in perfect condition, and repeatedly scanned your spine until the disruption was cleared. I finally asked that you make two physical movements so the disc could slip back in place. Your 'Aumakua and Unihipili did the healing. My prayer picture and mana surcharge just gave your own healing ability a boost. 2. If it had not been in your highest good; your 'Aumakua would not have used my prayer picture and mana surcharge to heal your back, and your mother's 'Aumakua would not have used the prayer pictures and mana surcharge to heal her knee; the 'Aumakua would have used the mana surcharge in another way for your highest good. We are NOT the healers.

I just want the readers not to fall into the trap of thinking we can have everything we want. We can; if it maintains harmony, and is in our best interest. Two Bears

Manifesting a $100 bill by C.H.

Huna is a mystical energy prayer method that offers results! After months of nudging from Two Bears, my Reiki Master, I gave Huna a try. Using the methods that Charlotte Berney gives in her book "Fundamentals Of Hawaiian Mysticism" I created a prayer asking for health, abundance, well-being, and safety. Within days it was truly like the Universal energy that mana is was kicking in. It started with synchronicities that included a divine lesson at work. I work in the gaming industry, and winning isn't a necessarily easy thing, never mind what the flashy signs of casinos say. One evening, I was dealing to a table that included two older male friends. From the start they were discussing the one gentleman's nephew, who was on a winning streak at a nearby roulette table. "Winning comes so natural to Craig, the one man exclaimed shaking his head in amazement. My intuition perked up that this man was no braggart and that the situation deserved further investigation. I started asking the two men about Craig. I was told he was a very generous soul and that giving was a key note of his personality. Craig, a rather young man, regularly checked in with his uncle and the other older man announcing another big "hit" he made at the table in an almost nave, child-like manner. Between visits, Craig's Uncle told me about how Craig put his now ex-wife through college and how he was always gifting people. I watched this whole encounter in amazement because I have read in several metaphysical books that those that give indeed do receive back and that this was a Universal law. Not long before I left the table, Craig presented his Uncle a free golfing pass at a nearby golf course, as to, without even Knowing, prove what his Uncle told me. I believe the Universe was telling me a "secret" of achieving abundance through this encounter. Approximately a week after this, the Universe energy provided me with material proof that Huna's Ha Rites definitely do work. I was leaving work with my mate and went out the front door, as I have hundreds of times before. About six feet outside the front door, I noticed what appeared to be money folded up just laying there on the ground. I bent down to pick it up and was in total shock as I put it in my pocket, as it appeared to be a $100 bill. When I got to the car I finally got the nerve up to check and see the bill's denomination. Sure enough, it was a $100 bill! Interestingly enough, it was folded in fours. Four is a most sacred number in Hawai'ian mysticism, so I knew the source of where this "gift" came from. The timing of my finding this was perfect as there were some expensive tapes on auction at eBay that I wanted to purchase. Lo and behold, the money provided itself!

Since then, when I have needed it most, I have been "nudged" to the right source when I have a problem. Abundance comes in many forms besides money and Ha Rites have definitely provided me with both. Please listen to what Two Bears has to say, as he definitely knows his Huna. I have read many Huna books, and Two Bears' Huna 101 is a perfect summation of what Huna is. He has truly captured the essence of this ancient Hawai'ian healing/manifestation method. He is a caring and unselfish individual who was kind enough to teach Reiki to me and many others for free. C.H. is a dear friend. She is Reiki, Seichim, and HUNA student of mine. Two Bears

The healing of Tammy F's hand by Two Bears

In June 2001; I was at the laundry mat (doing laundry) when I heard a lady scream outside. I went out to see what was wrong, and she told me she had injured her thumb and hand at work two days earlier, and had been unable to move her thumb since the accident. I picked up her laundry baskets and carried them inside for her. Once inside; I introduced myself and told her that I was an energy healer, and offered to try to help heal her hand. Tammy was not a skeptic; she was a disbeliever in energy healing, She also stated that her doctor had reported the only way to improve the condition of her hand was to have surgery to repair the nerves and tendons. I replied saying "if the energy does not help; it will not do any harm", so she held her hand out for me to work with it, I held her hand between my hands. About 30 seconds into the healing she asked how my hands get so hot. I replied "That is the energy.". 1 minute into the healing we both observed redness running up her arm. After sending energy into her injured thumb and hand for 3 - 4 minutes; I released her hand and asked how her hand felt. At first she moved her thumb tentatively, and opened her mouth in amazement, then she wiggled her thumb almost normally. Then her expression was "Damn! This is cool!"

Using HUNA to help with debts by D.C.

Soon after my first experience, I did a ha rite to become debt free. I have had chronic health problems, which I have gotten much more control over and soon should be clear of, but which have created many expenses for me, drained my energy and finances. Anyways, I have made fantastic strides to permanently eliminate my chronic health issues (this has been over a period of years, and predates any involvement with huna), but the finances have been a problem, even though I have a fairly decent income.

Within a few weeks of doing a ha rite to eliminate my debts, I received two terrific balance transfer offers on my existing credit lines, and an unexpected chunk of money. Within that short period, I have reduced my debts by 25%, put some money in the bank, and reduced my interest charges by 50%. It seems too much to be a coincidence, I believe the huna has helped bring this into being. D.C. Thank you for sharing another HUNA experience. Two Bears

My sincere apologies by JN
Last week; my wife twisted her ankle, and I did a ha rite, placed my hands on her injured ankle, and visualized her jogging. After a moment or so; Glynda reported feeling intense heat coming from my hands, and a few minutes later; she was walking pain free. I would not have believed this if I had not seen this happen with my own eyes! Two Bears is right on when he says "Huna works!" Two Bears; please accept my sincere apologies? I expected you to explode when I implied that you were lying about the effectiveness in Huna healings; but you offered wise council "Put HUNA to work in your life and see what happens." JN: I am glad that you are putting HUNA to work in your life. I need to mention two things. 1. No apology needed; because 30 years ago; I would not have believed it either. 2. Only history will be able to determine if I had wisdom or not. Two Bears

My Dental Emergency by Two Bears

April 2000, I was traveling on the plains (Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming), and I broke a tooth and had to have emergency dental surgery. The dentists in SD did not accept my insurance, so I paid the dentist but did not know how I would pay my rent, utilities and buy food that month. I did a Ha rite, and the prayer picture was my bills marked "paid in full" and my pantry full of food. Then miracles began to happen.

I found 7 $5 bills, more than 20 $1 bills, and about $30 of change. I also sold about 45 books at Amazon.com and Half.com. On four occasions, neighbors in my apt complex took me out to eat. More than 6 or 7 times, neighbors would make too much food, and they asked if I could use the extra food. This helped me get through that lean month without too much difficulty. I'm not saying that you will win the lottery, or you will become wealthy, but you WILL get what you really need

1. Two Bears; Is HUNA a religion? SJ Not really. I know people of many faiths, including "Christianity," who practice HUNA because of Max Freedom Long's imperfect understanding of Hawaiian spirituality and culture. My spirituality is along the lines of the American Indians, but I pray Hawaiian (because the Hawaiians had effective prayer down to a science.). 2. Two Bears; In HUNA healings aren't you exploiting the placebo effect? DK No. The "Time Trax" episode where Darien Lambert (Darien is a police officer from 200 years in the future, and is sent back in time to capture criminals from the future) and the Texas police officer are trying to catch the pair of jewel thieves, and Darien heals the officers injured neck and broken leg in minutes (after she had been hit by a car) while the injured officer is being transferred to the hospital by ambulance. This was based on similar events recorded about Kahuna healers. "Recovering The Ancient Magic", and "The Secret Science Behind Miracles" by Max Freedom Long lists several of these documented accounts. In June 2001, I was at the laundry mat, and treated a lady's injured hand; read the complete incident in "Real HUNA Experiences" about Tammy F. 3. Isn't the belief in mana and HUNA healing simply the power of suggestion? SR Based on my experience mana IS real. Mana is experiential instead of belief, and, no, it is not the power of suggestion. Mana cannot be proven to the degree required by scientists, but I know by first hand experience that mana is real. Insects, electronic thermometers, and clouds three miles away are not susceptible to the power of suggestion. a. I have held an electronic thermometer between my hands, and had it register 98.2 degrees Fahrenheit. When doctors used to take a child's temperature by placing the thermometer in the armpit (between the arm and abdomen), they had to add two degrees to the temperature recorded to get the internal temperature.

b. By projecting a ball of mana from my hand, I have caught insects in mid air. I have done that in the presence of several witnesses. 4. Is the 'Aumakua an ancestor, and the practice of HUNA ancestor worship as postulated by MFL? SJ I don't think so. MFL stated the 'Aumakua was an utterly trustworthy parental spirit. I believe the Kahunas figured out psychology hundreds or thousands of years before Sigmund Freud or Carl Gustav Jung were born. I believe the three selves equate to the sub conscious, conscious, and the super conscious minds. I am only sure of one thing. "For creation to exist, there MUST be a Creator." 5. Two Bears: why is it necessary to separate the fingers for a ha rite? MS Some of the energy pathways (the Chinese call them meridians) terminate on the fingers. When you allow the fingers to come into contact with each other, it allows the energy or mana to be grounded back into the body. 6. Isn't HUNA using your mana reserves? GH Not really. If you do the ha rite, you are replenishing your mana reserves. If you send the prayer picture to your 'Aumakua, it does not take all that much mana to have a dramatic change. Since you asked; here are some of the symptoms of energy drain. Feeling sleepy, tired, weak, hungry, or nervous. 7. I have studied qigong. Must I use the abdominal breathing exercise you describe for ha rites? KM Of course not. If you want to use reverse Taoist breathing, pore breathing, turtle breathing heel breathing, etc; in ha rites, be my guest. I studied Qigong (chee gong) long ago. This document is for people from all walks of life, and all levels of skill, and I want these techniques to be as safe and gentle as possible. 8. I have studied Ceremonial Magick, Wicca, and other forms of magick, and I have created thought forms. Is it possible that the Akua began as thought forms, and as belief in them spread to more and more people, the Akua took on a life and personality of their own? T.D. You are correct; that we have the ability to create. Create something on the astral plane, and given enough time and mana, they can become real on the physical plane. If the assorted authors of books on creative visualization had added the conscious gathering and manipulating of Universal Life-force Energy, then sending the mana and visualization to the higher powers, they would have given their readers a more powerful system.

By building mana surcharges, and visualizing yourself with a different outcome; you CAN change your future. Back to your question. Yes, it is possible that the Akua started out as thought forms and became real as more people believed in them; but it is also possible the Akua are real spiritual powers as described by the ancient Hawaiians. I have faith that Hina, Kanaloa, Kane, Ku, Pele, etc; are real! It is a part of the Great Mystery that we and our limited awareness cannot solve, so I do not concern myself with the issue. 9. You suggested that I use a pendulum and talk over my complexes and fixations with my Unihipili and 'Aumakua. How can I tell if I am really getting information from them, instead of my Uhane influencing the swing of the pendulum and getting the answers I expect. CH Great question! Answers from the Unihipili will evoke emotion. It is not uncommon for tears to well up in your eyes or to demonstrate other emotions when you get data from your Unihipili. Answers from the Uhane, you will detect the presence of the ego. Answers from the 'Aumakua will be logical, but devoid of ego or emotion. 10. Two Bears; I have had some bad experiences with entities while working magick. Is this a concern in HUNA? MH No. In magick; you spend time in casting the circle, calling the quarters, raising power in the circle, before you get into working magick. This attracts all kinds of entities because they want to tap into this energy. In HUNA you are gathering a surcharge of energy inside your aura (many times stronger than the magic circle). The mana is sent to your 'Aumakua (also inside your aura), and lastly a ha rite need not take more than 3 - 4 minutes from start to finish. 11. Huna sounds like new age material. Is huna worth my time? XJ Yes; HUNA IS worth your time; in my opinion. I don't know how new Hawai'ian mysticism is; but MFL began his research into the miracles of the kahunas in 1918, and there are documents naming the three selves as far back as 1898. 12. Does Huna really work that well in healing yourself and others. TC Yes!

HUNA should be used as an addition to proper health care. You should NEVER use HUNA or any alternative healing practice INSTEAD of receiving proper medical help. 13. Why do you bash so many HUNA authors? DH Several people have asked me this question. I am not bashing HUNA authors. I see it as a duty to caution others walking in my footsteps so they may avoid the pitfalls I found. HUNA is a spiritual technology that really works, and it does not need for "Christianity", Wicca, Shamanism, Qigong or other systems to be added to it. 14. Two Bears; how can you be so sure Huna will work for me? IR Because I have seen HUNA work for me, and many other people that were willing to put these exercises into practice. 15. Two Bears; After reading your HUNA 101, and "Recovering The Ancient Magic" by Max Freedom Long; Huna sounds waaaaaay out there. Are you telling the truth about those incidents? JN All of those incidents happened exactly as described. I would suggest for you to put this spiritual technology into practice, and then watch miracles happen in your life. 16. Two Bears; you teach to communicate with the Unihipili and Aumakua via pendulum. Is there any proof the Hawaiians used pendulums? LR I have no proof Hawaiians used pendulums; but they could have made pendulums. Suspend a pebble or kukui nut, sea shell, or almost anything with a hair or plant fibers. Since the Hawaiians COULD have used pendulums; I am not going to discount the use of pendulums. 17. Which Huna book is best? MF I am not entirely happy with ANY HUNA book because all of them have various strengths and weaknesses. Fundamentals Of Hawaiian Mysticism Charlotte Berney is the best HUNA book in print. This book is very good overall, but has a few weaknesses. a. Limiting people with the HUNA vow on page 72. b. Techniques to clear complexes and fixations. c. Techniques to assist people in psychic protection ect. See my bibliography where I list HUNA books in the order that I recommend them. Only the better books have been long out of print.
