Watch Night 2010 have a couple men pass out stones As this year ends and the New

Year begins, I would like us all to reflect on our own lives, spiritually ......... Now don't think about where I am spiritually, or where Pastor Crews is, or Brother Khamsy ...... think about where you are. . John 8;1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Prayer................................................. no, I am not preaching about adultery tonight; but I do want to look at john 8;7..... specifically He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone........ I know, in this country we don't usually stone people right? But John 8 goes on........ 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. No one to accuse her, because they were all convicted by their own sins! We stone others with our words! We just love to talk about what everyone else is doing. These pharisees were out to accuse this woman and let everyone know what she had done, and have her stoned too!!! Why, was it really that they were mad at her, really

upset by the sin? No it was really just to prove a point and trick Jesus.....no matter the cost.. oh, and to make themselves look good! When we point out someone else's sin do we do it because we want to appear better than that person? (all read) Luke 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. Is this what we are doing when we talk about someone else's sins? Mt 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. Don't worry about what some other person is doing, let's worry about ourselves John 8;7 ,,,,,,He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone. We like to judge people by their past, don't we? I Know we are all too spiritual to judge, right? Let's use an example.............. there's a guy who has heard about Jesus, but doesn't believe....it's completely against his religeous beliefs... he doesn't want to hear it from anyone, in fact he is against anyone that does believe, he even wishes them harm, and is willing to harm them himself>>> would you ever let him try to teach the things of God???? of course not! If this man came into church, and we all knew what he was like can you just imagine the talk? What would you be saying, or thinking? Would we as good Christians Judge him? But, what if he got saved? Would you let him into your home or church to teach you then? If you say no..... then you had better take most of the new testament out of your bible and throw it away.....any books written by Paul! If Saul was so bad, and became a new creature when he got saved, what right to we have to judge someone else? Especially to judge on a past lifestyle??? Ro 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

John 8;7 ,,,,,,He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone. We judge people using ourselves as the norm, or plum line. What right do we have judging anyone else???

2 cor. 5;17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Why do we want to remember the bad in people? Why do we want to talk about the sins of others? Does it make us feel better about ourselves, our sins? Ps 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. If Christ is not accusing us, why would we dare to accuse each other? John 8;7 ..he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone...... if any of you knew me before I got saved, you would not want me up here preaching to you!!! you might not want me in this church at all! You definatly would not want me teaching children, or teen boys! But the good thing is that that was the old creature, the old man The only one here that knew me before salvation is Rachel, and she doesnt judge me by my past. Brother Khamsy and Miss Rosa knew me as a brand new Christian, and as far as I know they don't judge me by the way I was when I first showed up at Open Bible Baptist Church. You've all heard that I'm an alcoholic--- something I am not at all proud of------Praise God that was the old Scott--- the old man romans 6;6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Praise God that you didn't know that old man!!! Ro 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brothers way. Aren't we supposed to love the way Jesus taught us? Then why don't we? Why do we insist on talking about each other? Why do we insist on looking at everyone elses sins, except for our own?

John 8;7 ,,,,,,He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone. Who among us is without sin????? so what right do we have to gossip about eachother? Or to put someone down? Example: theres a lady that graduated college, on the deans list, pretty much had the pick of any job in her field, took a great job. Had a husband, house, and a new baby...everything going right, and then got caught up in a life of drugs, lost the home, lost a child, lost her husband just about........ years of agony but then her husband got saved, and dragged her to church, lives were changed she began teaching, soul=winning- never missed...until the old lifestyle came back in, slowly at first, and then like a freight train, until all was almost lost again, she got help, studied the bible, surrendered to God's will, and all seemed fine. The only thing missing was her own salvation! How would you look at her? How would you talk about her? What about after salvation truly came? Would you trust her? Would you let her teach? would you judge her as pertaining to her old life? John 8;7.....he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone>>>> If Jesus won't condemn her for her sin, even if she hurt the cause of Christ, what right do we have to accuse her? Psalm 103;12 as far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. We had better be careful how we speak about eachother. The next time you find yourself getting ready to talk about someone and their sins, take out that stone and consider your own sins before you speak. Or if someone else begins, take out your stone, and show it to them, quote john 8;7 to them. Mt 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brothers eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Mt 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Mt 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brothers eye.

So this new year, try carrying this stone around with you, see if it helps the way you see others, and the way you see yourself. John 8:7 ..........he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..........
