e-WOOF is a bi-monthly

e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to highlight shelter dogs in critical need of help.

Copper is a kind and sweet guy, who is also calm and friendly. He enjoys a walk almost as much as he enjoys receiving pets and loves. Copper is neutered and housebroken. He is a playful guy with a gentle nature. He is hoping for a new home and family where he will be loved and cherished. Will someone please give Copper a second chance? He is very concerned because the pound is full. BUDDYs story is a sad one. He is a Lab mix. He came to Metro from a vets office, where he was left and not picked up. He is a senior, likely between 11-12 years of age. Buddy is an absolute sweetheart who likes people and other dogs. He is kind, gentle, and friendly, and his movements are agile and spry. In fact, if one were to see him trotting around outside, it would be hard to fathom him as a senior. Buddy is hoping and praying someone will adopt him and give him a warm and loving home. He is scared because the pound is full. Please, someone give him a new leash on life.

Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, loving dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives.

Amara is a gorgeous brindle who likes people and dogs. She also enjoys car rides. She is a fun-loving puppy, who is also beautiful. Amara is friendly, happy, and very playful. She enjoys a walk and playing with other dogs. She also relishes in pets and attention from people. Amara hopes another family will find her, adopt her, and love her the rest of her life. The pound is full and she needs a new home. Wont someone please go meet her and see if she is just the furry girl you have been looking for?

He was surrendered to us because his owner was an older man who couldnt give Ace the exercise he needs. He is great with other dogs and children. Ace is an active boy who loves to run and play fetch. Since he loves to run, he would be great with an active family. He had surgery on his bowels when he was a year old and when the vet removed the breathing tube it damaged his vocal cords. Because of this, Ace has a pretty rough bark. He is a very sweet boy who is looking for his forever family! FERN is a beautiful 1- year old Red Nose Pit Bull. She is very affectionate and sweet. This poor little girl was found tied to a guard rail in Wind River Canyon before she was brought to us. Her rescuer told us that Fern is great with small children. She would probably be best in a home with no other dogs; she just wants to play with them, but often times she wants to play a little rougher than the other dog would like. GUNNEY is a 12 year old German Shorthair Pointer/Heeler mix. You would never know how old he is though; he acts like he is about 3! He knows many commands, such as roll over, back up, and all of the basics. He is wonderful with other dogs, cats, and children. He has a special diet for liver function and does well; otherwise Joe is in perfect health. Joe has learned many obedience commands, loves walking and close companionship. He is housetrained and kennel trained. He is quiet, only barks to go outside or come inside. At this stage, it would be good for Joe to be an only dog. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and weighs about ten pounds. His previous owner moved to an apartment where pets are not allowed.

In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. Black Dog Animal Rescue -- Cheyenne, WY Contact: bdar@bdar.org MAZY is a 3 year old female Lab mix. Outgoing, active, and playful, thats Mazy! Shes good with kids, other dogs, and even cats. Shes a great size weighing about 40 pounds. Mazy loves to ride in the car with her head out the window, ears flapping, and a big smile on her face. She loves to go for walks and loves to snuggle. When she is laying by your feet and is very content, she makes little groaning sighs of happiness that will melt your heart. She is housebroken and improving daily on knowing basic commands, walking on leash, and being crated. This girl will need a 6 fence to keep her safe. Mazy is super smart and learns quickly. Shes a very happy girl who just wants to have fun! Mazy is a sweetheart! SPARKY is a 7 year old, male Chihuahua mix. Sparky is true to his name in that he brings a sparkle to life! He is a sweet Chihuahua who enjoys hanging with other dogs, both big and small. He is playful and loves to snuggle. He is also housebroken. Sparky has a splash of white on his left side that looks like he was helping someone paint the house. He kennels well, and will often take his naps voluntarily in his kennel when the door is open. He is a little guy and weighs in at 9 pounds. Playtime is his favorite and would enjoy being with children 10 and older. He is looking forward to having a forever home. Let Sparky add a little sparkle to your life! JAKE is a 6 year old Lab mix. Loyal friend -- those two words perfectly describe Jake. Jake is a friendly, quiet, well-mannered, wellbehaved boy. He is eager to please, very smart, and knows several basic commands. Jake is a great size weighing about 65 pounds. He gets along with other dogs and doesnt pay much attention to cats. Jake is house trained, crate trained, and never chews on anything, except his ball, which he LOVES and plays a perfect game of fetch! While Jake is mostly quiet and reserved, he does still have some puppy energy and wants to play and be silly. He loves people and wants to be near you, no matter what you are doing whether its indoors or outdoors. While Jake would do fine in a house full of kids, this boys dream would be to have a home where he could hang out and be someones loyal friend and go do all those friend things, like watch the game on TV, gardening, taking a ride in the car, hiking, fishing, camping or just hanging out. You know . . . doing what friends like to do together. Jake is always happy to be by your side. Meet SWEETS and DOBBIE! Sweets (2 years old) is the moth-

er of Dobbie (9 months old) and was found with him on the up ramp to the Interstate near Lodge Grass, Montana She has been vaccinated, vetted, and spayed. She would prefer a home without rowdy dogs. While Dobbie is very active, Sweets is quiet and loves to hang out and get attention. She will be about 65 lbs when she gets her weight back. She was very thin and went far too long without good food so she guards all food from other dogs. But she has never been anything but cooperative and kind with people and loves, loves, loves attention. Dobbie has been vaccinated, vetted, and neutered. He is friendly and learning some social graces. He needs his own home! DOBBIE

This little guy is just bursting with energy and personality! Caesar is microchipped and up to date on all his shots. He would love to find a home with children and/or another small dog--he LOVES to play! It might be best to have a 6-foot fenced yard in which Caesar could run and jump and PLAY! He is also crate trained and is covered until November 2013 with up to $5,000 pet insurance. Can you give Caesar a good home?!
