MICRO UPDATE
I hopped in the passenger seat of the trusty Mitsubishi Montero and looked over at Miriam who gave me a quick little grin and said Ask Martha how the morning went! A bit curious, I asked Martha, our spring intern at the time, what had happened? Martha smiled and said, Remember how I got to celebrate Rosas real birthday with her last November. Well, I got to celebrate her spiritual birthday today. Seeing people come to a relationship with their creator through the saving grace of what Christ has done is one of the greatest joys that we have at the Microfinance Site. We work hard to improve associates economic situations and desire to see their standard of living rise but as Jesus so bluntly stated, it means nothing for a man to gain the whole world if he just loses his soul. We are excited to continually see people like Rosa who have begun their relationship journey with Christ and how they are impacting others. (Rosa led her husband to Christ.) However, like all new relationships that grow into mature relationships, a lot of time must be spent continuing to know and understand the other person. Pray for the Microfinance Site and for the new believers like Rosa that we have. Most of all, pray that we would be able to disciple those new believers and that they would learn to passionately pursue the Lord at all costs. Katy Griffin, a pastor from Highlands Church in California, shares the story of Esther and her call to lead at our annual bank coordinators retreat. The Microfinance team has been working hard to encourage the coordinators of each of our microbanks and to help them to step up and be leaders in their bank and community. Our desire is to see that each MiBanco grows stronger as a group and is able to not only continue receiving the benefits of our financial services, but also to impact their community in a positive way.
