    CEMA B Series Roll Design Features


    Styles
    Goodman Conveyor manufactures its B Series idlers for belt widths from 18 through 48. Troughing idlers are offered in 20 and 35 trough angles (45 also available) in standard and wide base, as well as inside channel mount designs.

    4 and 5 Diameter Rolls

    The 4 and 5 diameter rolls are of one-piece construction with steel shells and an engineered polymer roll end. The roll end is secured by an interference press t and is locked to the shaft. The 17mm shaft provides strength and the short moment arm minimizes shaft slope at the bearing which increases bearing life. Rolls are tted at each end with a special 17mm deep groove, high capacity, precision ball bearing. These bearings are double shielded and permanently lubricated.

    Removable Rolls

    Rolls are secured in the frame assembly by special clips providing a rigid, one-piece unit, yet allowing easy roll removal when necessary.

    Rigid End and Center Stands

    End and center stands are die formed from steel plate, and end stands are channel formed for greater rigidity. Stands and foot plates are xture-welded to the self-cleaning inverted base angle, assuring accurate roll alignment.

    Engineered polymer roll end provides a lightweight roll that reduces noise, corrosion and material build-up.

    An interference press t secures the roll end to the shell. The inner shield acts as a inger to divert contaminants away from the bearing cavity.

    A 17mm ball bearing is double shielded and permanently lubricated. The back seal is molded into the head design and provides added protection for the bearing cavity. Two-piece shield forms a horizontal, grease filled labyrinth and provides a barrier to contaminants entering the bearing cavity.

    The outer shield locks to the shaft to maintain horizontal labyrinth clearances.
