1. STRENGTH TEST FOR THE CONSTRUCTIONS CUTTING PROVIDING THE SMIT BRACKET SECURING 1.1. STRENGTH TEST OF THE SMIT BRACKET KNEES WELDING TO THE WELDED-IN PLATE The calculation is being made for the test load = 1200 kN. The Smit brackets knees are welded to the reinforced plate by means of 8 weld seam with 8mm leg. Tangential stresses of the walls cutting of the Smit bracket knees are subject to the weld seams.
max =
P 6 1200 10 3 6 10 = 10 = 25 MPa < [] = 140 MPa. fc 0,04864

Where fc = (0,54 + 0,54 + 0,2)(0,03 + 0,008) = 0,04864 m 2 area of the knees walls cutting subject to the weld seams, m 2 (cutting is taken in the middle of the weld seam leg) see fig.1. The wall thickness of the Smit bracket knee is 30mm, the weld seam leg is 8mm, total length of the knee welding to the reinforced plate 1,28m. P = 1200 kN test load of the Smit bracket.
