AIRPORT TRANSFERS Airport transfers can be arranged by EC if requested in advance. All flight details including arrival time, flight numbers, airline and point of origin have to be advised 7 days prior to arrival in order for EC to provide airport transfers. Failure to notify the transportation company and school (emergency phone) of flight delays/cancellations at least one hour prior to original arrival time will result in assessment of fees. Students will meet an EC transportation representative with an EC Boston sign outside Customs in the case of international arrivals, or at baggage claim for domestic arrivals. If, after 20 minutes, students cannot see the EC representative they are advised to proceed to the airport information desk and call the transportation line at 1800 609 1402. Terminal E Help Desk After exiting the plane: 1. Pass through US Customs 2. Go to baggage claim 3. Exit the security zone 4. Look for New England Coach driver If you have any questions, please look for the Information Desk: If students have not booked an airport transfer, they must inform EC of their expected time of arrival at least 5 days prior to arrival. Arrival in Boston is on a Saturday. Students who are scheduled to arrive on Sunday due to flight logistics and are booked to stay in an EC residence, should also book an airport transfer this will enable the school to deliver the residence key to the students. All students arriving between 11am and 8pm on a Saturday will have the benefit of a Welcome Greeter at the residence. Students arriving outside of these hours are required to book our transfer service who will provide students with their keys.

TRANSPORTATION Logan International Airport is located just 2 miles outside the city center, with several convenient public transportation options to and from downtown & suburban locations. MBTA (Mass. Bay Transportation Authority) - referred to as the T - runs daily service on buses, trains, & trolleys throughout Boston & surrounding towns between approximately 6am and midnight. T stations can be identified by a black T on a white circular sign.A variety of fares and passes are available to fit student commuting needs. Subway fare is $2.00 The basic bus fare is $1.50 Weekly and monthly passes allow for unlimited travel on multiple MBTA services and have built in discounts and benefits for bus and subway travel

FIRST DAY Students are expected to arrive at school at 8:30am on their first morning. Students will be given a handbook during orientation on the first day of class. This handbook includes school policies, immigration regulations and tips about getting around Boston. Students should bring the following to school with them on the first day: I-20 form(s) (F-1 students only) visa and passport proof of health insurance (for the entire length of programme) I-94 card (small white or green card received on the plane) - Students entering the US EITHER over land, OR before 30th April 2013, OR who are transferring from another EC school at which they registered before 30th April 2013, will receive a hard copy I-94 form upon entry to the US. They must bring this form to the school in order to be registered. All other students forms will be electronicallyprocessed and accessible by the school, so it will not be necessary to bring a hard copy. $150 accommodation damage deposit if booked in apartment

FIRST DAY SCHEDULE 8:30 Student arrival & check in 9:00 Placement Test 10:30 Orientation 11:30 Lunch 12:30 Academic Orientation 2:00 Orientation for AY, BY and SACM students 3:00 Welcome walk with student ambassador PLACEMENT TEST Students will take a placement test on their first day which assesses the students in all key skill areas, allowing academic staff to place students in the relevant english group for their ability. The placement test is followed by orientation. Students who take Intensive classes start on the first day. Students who take General English or Semi-Intensive classes start on the day after placement and orientation.

EC Boston's timetable consists of: University-style alternating schedule offering a combination of morning and afternoon lessons for all students Pronunciation Clinic & Conversation Club offered morning and afternoon at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm Brand new elective sessions giving students more elective options Flexible Activity Calendar to allow all students to participate in weekly events At EC Boston, there are 3 timetable options when studying General, Semi-Intensive and Intensive lessons 20 lessons per week (15 hours) - General English. Students are assigned a morning or afternoon bank upon arrival. 24 Lessons per week (18 hours) - Semi-Intensive English. Elective lessons take place twice weekly from 12:00 to 13:30 or 13:35 to 15:05 in combination with General English courses. 30 Lessons per week (22.5 hours) - Intensive English. Elective lessons take place Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 13:30 or 13:35 to 15:05 in combination with General English courses.
