I. COURSE DESCRIPTION Guided by Lasallian virtues of faith, zeal for service, and communion in mission, the course prepares the students to be abreast and knowledgeable with the different kinds of government, politics and social dynamics of major countries of the world. It will also aim to facilitate thorough analysis of the different methods that will be used to aid the comparison of major countries. As a field of political science, students are expected to read and analyze necessary reading materials for further understanding and learning of this course. This is achieved by helping students realize their full potential by requiring them to submit analysis, reaction and research paper relevant to the topic (has passion for excellence). Begin every meeting with gospel reading and prayer (God-loving), and to help in industry and nation building through the knowledge learned in this course (patriotic). The course encompasses different methodology of comparison in history, governance, economy, politics and social dynamics of major countries of the world in relation with our own history, system of government, economy, politics and social dynamics. II. DESIRED LEARNING RESULTS Expected Lasallian Graduate Attrubutes (ELGAs) Has Passion for excellence At the end of the course, the following are expected to be realized: Facilitate learning of students regarding the importance of understanding the history, system of government, political and social dynamics of major countries of the world. Analyze and understand the consequences of historical events that have an impact to the present political, economic and social structure and situation among the countries that will be the focal point of study for this course.

God-loving Patriotic

Comprehension of Christian teachings that in every situation or event, God allows it because God has his own plans and purpose. Making a difference to their workplace most especially if they landed a job in the government by applying the lessons and concept that they learned from this course. Create research studies in relevance with the subject that could aid future students of this course.

III Final Output Creation of research study on how the Philippines could benefit from the lessons learned in comparing history, system of government, political and social dynamics of major countries of the world. You are to choose two countries that you will compare and analyze in their history, government, social and political aspects and present their similarities and distinctions from each other, and relate it with our own historical, system of government, social and political aspects. (passion for excellence) To shed light on the important issues in our government and society that needs to be addressed by proper authorities. (Patriotic) The results gained from such a research can be a point of reference for future researches on comparative government studies. (God loving)

COURSE POLICIES A. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. The use of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets is prohibited during class hours unless a special permission to do so is granted. Food and drinks are not allowed to be brought inside the classroom. Students are allowed seven (7) absences inclusive of tardiness for a 1 hour-class; and eleven (11) absences inclusive of tardiness for a one hour-class. All absences thereafter shall mean excessive absences which are equivalent to a grade of 0.0. Assignment must be submitted before the class begins; unless otherwise indicated. Make-up quizzes are given at anytime during the period (prelim, midterm and final). Students who missed any quizzes should see the subject teacher during his/her consultation hours. Special major exams are scheduled one week after the administration of the major exams. Students should be honest at all times; cheating in any form is prohibited, which could merit a 0.0 grade. Concerns (grades, activities, performances, etc) must be discussed properly with the subject teacher.

N.B. All other policies (attendance, tardiness, decorum, grievance, etc) shall be subject to the provisions of the latest version of the Student Handbook.
