Time for an Upgrade

A central Indiana farm is starting their new year with a major upgrade. They recently switched from those other colors of tractors to eight new AGCO machines from MacAllister. The first piece of equipment purchased was an 865C Challenger tractor. And thats all it took. From there this three-generation family farm traded in four John Deere pieces and upgraded to several new AGCO machines, including: two 865C Challenger tractors, a 560C Challenger combine, a Sunflower 5056 field cultivator, two 765D Challenger track tractors, one 755D Challenger track tractor, and one Challenger 835 row crop tractor. They also added a CT660 CAT semi to their collection. This upgrade was a major overhaul for their farming operation and it includes the first combine not purchased from another dealership by one of those other brands of equipment in 22 years. The farm is switching one piece at a time until they have completely converted their entire fleet of equipment. When asked about the switch, the answer was simple: Why just farm when you can farm with pride?" Especially when pride comes in the form of superior performance, unmatched efficiency, and unrivaled dependability of Challenger tractors and AGCO farm machinery. Other tractors cannot compete with the fuel efficiency of AGCOs Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system paired with e3 technology. In fact, Deere recently admitted they cannot achieve the required emissions levels to meet Tier 4 Final without using SCR technology; which AGCO has been using since the release of the Challenger MT600C Series in February 2009. To change is to take a risk. However, when the change is a clear upgrade in technology and efficiency (without comprise of power) can you really risk not making a change? This central Indiana farm made a single change by purchasing one new piece of equipment and it opened their eyes to what they had been missing all along: yellow tractors.

NEW RoGator Releases for 2013

Santa and the great minds at AGCO have delivered higher-performing and more-efficient application practices with the 2013 release RoGator RG900/RG1100/RG1300 sprayers. All three models include AGCOMMAND, AGCOs proprietary telemetry system, as a standard feature with one year of the Advanced Service subscription. Additionally, to further improve spray-height accuracy and control, AGCO now offers NORAC UC5TM Spray Height Control System as an available technology option for every model. NORAC UC5 combines speed, precision, and accuracy with ultrasonic sensors mounted on the left, center, and right boom sections that automatically maintain a preset height of the entire boom above crops or the ground. These sensors eliminate the need for manual monitoring of field conditions and mechanically adjust boom heights to follow the contours of the ground, thus maximizing proper coverage and minimizing operator fatigue. Also new to 2013, the RG900 is now available with a spinner box, making RoGator the only applicator equipment offering liquid, dry, or combo-ready applications on all models of equipment. The RoGator RG900/RG1100/RG1300 sprayers for pre and post-emergence applications continue to offer the most consistent application in the industry. The Tier 4i AGCO Power 8.4-liter diesel engine with exclusive e3 technology significantly improves fuel economy while providing more horsepower and torque. In fact, operators have reported an increases in in-field performance and a 13% decrease in fuel consumption when compared to Tier 3 non-SCR equipment. In addition to these new advances, the 2013 RoGator models include several features carried over from their award-winning predecessors developed in 2011 and 2012. These features include:

Improved boom plumbing and air aspirators that provide faster on-and-off times, while also improving upon the industry-leading +/-1 psi tip-to-tip accuracy. A proven drivetrain system that provides fast response to changing field conditions for more consistent application speeds. Service access points located at ground level to simplify maintenance. An enhanced operator environment that lowers in-cab decibel levels for a quieter ride. A level walkway from front-to-back provides safe and easy access to the rear of the machine. Your choice of four boom options from 80 to 120 feet wide. All feature tip and full boom breakaway for added durability. Safety and visibility improvements, such as the lower, non-obstructive location of boom rests for transport, improved mirror placement, back-up alarm, and additional auxiliary lights.

Precise Planters Uses for Everyday Items

Each issue will include creative uses for everyday items. This column will provide clever and creative solutions using items already found in your home. Have a creative use for an ordinary item? Submit your idea and see it featured in The Grain Bin. Submissions can be emailed to Leo Leighton at LeoLeighton@MacAllister.com. As soon as you are finished packing your holiday decorations and taking the lights off the barn, youll be planning for 2013 planting. Start the planting season early with a White Planter. Specifically designed for early season planting and soft field conditions, White Planters are ideal for those wanting to get an early start to a bountiful crop. White Planters ensure accuracy and consistency with the innovative seed metering system. The seed meter was designed to plant almost any row crop: corn, soybeans, sunflowers, cotton, sorghum, milo, or peanuts, just to name a few. This unique seed meter design means one meter for many crops. The translucent EDGE DROP seed disc provides visibility of the seeds and uninterrupted seed release precision. This distinct design creates minimal contact between the seed and the seed tube throughout the seed disc speed range, thus providing superior in-row seed spacing accuracy and higher yields. Plus the exclusive design of the positive air metering system completely eliminates the need to maintain seals each year. Maintenance and timely manual adjustments are further eliminated by the quick release meter and hopper removal system. To remove the meter and hopper, operators simply loosen the large release knob, pivot the linkage, and lift off the seed meter and hopper. The process is simplified and requires no tools. The wide variety of White Planters, including over seventy models and sizes ranging from 4 to 31 rows, ensures there is a perfect planter to fulfill your seeding and tillage needs. Contact your local MacAllister Machinery representative to learn more about the leader in row-crop technology, White Planters.
