Professional Experience
Designation: Organization: Research Member & Team Lead CLIA Consortium, 11 academic and research institutions funded by Ministry of Communications and IT, Department of Information
Tools/Languages: Nutch, Java, Perl, Lucene, Luke, GIZA++, Moses Designation: Organization: Project(s): Duration: Description: Senior Member of Technical Staff (2 Months), Member of Technical Staff (18 Months) Persistent Systems Pvt. Ltd., Pune, India DigiMine, Netezza Performance Server (NPS) 20 Months (April 2002 December 2003) DigiMine was a startup working in the area of Data Analytics and Data Mining. As part of the DigiMine team at Persistent, I was involved in development and testing of various modules in the crucial click-stream processing pipeline. NPS is a parallel, high-performance database engine, which is being developed by Netezza corporation. It uses specialized hardware to perform fast filtering and scanning of data. As part of this project, I was involved in the design and development of a tool called "Loadgen" in Python which is used for profiling and testing the performance of the database. Besides, I designed and proposed a new scheme to support alter table add column operation efficiently without having to re-organize the entire database. This involved studying the various storage management techniques of Netezza and other open-source database systems like postgres.
