Capt Osman.2012
It was anticipated that during the passage, 600 tonne of fuel KG 2.1 would be
consumed from a rectangular double bottom tank, 15m in length and 28m
wide, subdivided equally by a longitudinal watertight bulkhead. Using the
cross curves provided, draw the curve of statical stability for the anticipated
arrival condition.
2.2
MV Del Monte approach Singapore Pilot Station with a starboard list. Upon
inspection, it was confirmed that the list was due to shift of 900 tonne of cargo
through a distance of 12 m to the starboard and 2 m vertically downwards.
2.2.1 Draw the curve of statical stability for the arrival condition.
2.2.2 From the curve obtained, determine the following.
i.
Angle of list
ii.
Maximum GZ and angle at which it occurs
iii.
Angle of vanishing stability
