DearApplicant, APIthanksyouforchoosingtoapplyforanindividualcertificationwithAPI.Inordertominimizeany misconceptionsandconcerns,wewantyoutoknowasmuchaspossibleregardingourpoliciesandprocesses. 1. API will process your application in the order it is received.

. Please note that we manually review and process around 1500 applications for each upcoming examination. The absolute majority of all these applications arrive in our office on the deadline date which, in turn, delays processing. It may take us 46 weeks to get to yourapplication.Tip#1:Donotwaitforthedeadline.Sendyourapplicationinearly.Itwillhelpustoprocess itinatimelymanneranditwillhelpyoutoavoidanywaiting. 2. Once payment is received, your application is reviewed and processed and we determine that you qualify for the program you selected, you will be scheduled for the examination. At this time API will send you an acknowledgement letter, notifying you of the date of your examination and the city where it will take place. Thisacknowledgementletterwillbeemailedtoyou.Inordertoensurereceiptofthiscommunication,please make sure theemail address you provideus is current and unique. Tip #2: If you do not hear from us, please checkyourspamboxsometimesvariousfilterswillputourlettersintoanemailspamortrashfolder. 3. The acknowledgement letter should arrive within 6 weeks of the application deadline. Tip #3: Check your e mailandspamfoldersregularly.IfyoudonotreceivetheacknowledgmentletterfromAPIwithin6weeksafter the deadline, please do not wait! Your application may have been lost in the mail. Contact ICPs customer serviceeitherbyemail(inspector@api.org)orbyphone(2026828064)todeterminethestatus. 4. Ifwedeterminethatyoudonotqualifyfortheexamination,wewillcontactyoubyemailorphonetodiscuss yourqualification. 5. If we determine that you do qualify, but your application was found to be incomplete, you will also receive a deficiency letter from API (by email), specifying what was missing in your application. You must resolve the deficiencyinorderforustocompleteyourapplicationprocessingandtoprovidecertification. 6. Onceweprocessalltheapplicationsanddeterminetheaddressesforthetestingsites,wewillforwardyouan admission letter. Admission letters are also sent both by email. Admission letters are generated by a contracted agency and sent out 3 weeks prior to the examination date.Tip # 4: Please make sureyour email isclearlywrittenonyourapplication. 7. Whether you sent us a new application or a reschedule request,youhave to pay for the examinationin order totakeit.Pleaseverifythatthepaymenthasindeedbeenmade.Tip # 5:Ifyouthinkyouhavesentusacredit cardpayment,butyourbankstatementsdonotreflectitpleasecontactusatleast5weekspriortotheexam date. 8. APIcompletesanexaminationrosterandsendsittoatestingagency56weekspriortotheexamination.This is necessary because the examination booklets are printed on demand, based on the number of applicants, and the testing sites are established and booked in advance (also based on the number of applicants). Therefore,oncetherostersarecompletedandsent,wehavenocontroloverthem,andwecannotaddpeople orchangetheirexamlocations. 9. Important note: Applications received by our office after the official application deadline will no longer be reviewedandprocessed.Ifyouarenot sure how long itwill takeforthe mail todeliver the application send itwellinadvance.
