3. Introduction of instrument works

TX-MPI Mine Locator exploration method is Natural Electric Field Frequency Selection Geophysical Measuring Method, it is using Magneto telluric as working electromagnetic field source, based on ground resistivity differences between rocks and minerals, and research electrical changes of underground geoelectric section according to several or dozens of different frequency variations of the electric field component, which is Alternating Current Geological Exploration Methods. Because the electric fields measured are magneto telluric electrical components, it is called Natural Electric Field; and because when operating the instrument selects several or dozens of low-frequency electric field component as measurement parameter, then it is named Frequency Selection Method; and the exploration method is named Natural Electric Field Frequency Selection Method.

Magneto telluric Signal is Input to Impedance input stage by IN (A/B) electrode probe (sensor) via cable, after attenuation Alternating Current is enlarge, and frequency selection, select the required operating frequency signal, and then after AC-DC converter A/B sampling and CPU data processing (e.g. anti-Interference data processing). In the course of the entire operation, under the control of CPU, the instrument is automatic range switching and automatic frequency selection. Finally, measurements are showing on the LCD screen. Analyze depending on the anomaly curves and measurement data to make geological conclusions. About formula First, through complex mathematical equations, convert Maxwell Equations to passive region wave equation, find periodic particular solution, then calculate the penetration depth of electromagnetic waves (

the relationship amongElectromagnetic penetration depth, Medium Resistivity and f frequency). Then through complicated mathematical calculations, obtain the relationship between wave impedance and medium resistivity. Treatment the same as resistivity, resistivity measured in the field is 2 ~ S apparent called apparent resistivity, finally convert to

resistivity and impedance, frequency and the formula. The two formulas are basic formulas of Natural Electric Field Frequency Selection Method. Formulas Formulas:

Formulas Analysis

How deep can electromagnetic waves penetrate? According to the relationship among , and f, the penetration depth is decided by the and f. Learn formulas: 1. When underground resistance is fixed number, the higher operation

frequency fthe more shallow electromagnetic waves penetration depth . The lower operation frequency f (low frequency), the more deep electromagnetic waves penetration depth . So when underground resistance is fixed number, it is better to select low frequency f for operating. 2. When operation frequency f is fixed number: The larger underground resistance (no electrical conductivity), the more deep electromagnetic waves penetration depth (not absorb). The lower underground resistance (electrical conductivity), the more shallow electromagnetic waves penetration depth (absorb).

between the two points M and N, it can show the ground resistivity (high resistance object and low resistance object). This formulas (1-34) is qualitative interpretation formula of VS exploration curve which is obtained by natural electric field frequency selection method.

Formulas (1-34) Applications:

Low resistively geological VS " exploration curve (0<1)

Good Conductive geological objects: such as gold, silver, copper, pyrite, iron ore, lead, zinc, ore, and so on. The resistivity of these objects is low ( as 0 showing on the above picture), which is ore. The resistivity of water 0 is lower than the resistivity of country rock1. Then the V is lower, please check the above picture (1-1) of VS exploration curve.

High resistivity geological VS " exploration curve (0>1)

High resistivity geological (0>1), such as quartz vein type gold mine, quartz vein type copper mine, and so on, the resistivity 0 of these mines is higher than the resistivity of country rock1 (0>1). Then the V is higher, the above picture (1-2) of VS exploration curve.
