5.]Throughput maximizing feedback for MIMO OFDM based wireless communication systems
Currently evolving wireless communication systems (e.g. LTE-A, WiMAX) are based on linearly precoded MIMO OFDM and utilize adaptive modulation and coding to adjust the code rate and modulation alphabet to the current channel conditions. For this purpose the transmitter requires channel knowledge, which is provided by means of receiver feedback, utilizing the rank, precoding matrix and channel quality indicators. This work presents algorithms for computing these feedback values. Our algorithms choose the rank and precoding matrix indicators to maximize the estimated user throughput, whereas the channel quality indicator is chosenmore conservatively to satisfy a given upper bound on the block error ratio. We demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms by means of link level simulations and comparison to theoretical bounds on the achievable throughput.
estimation algorithm for wireless 2times2 MIMO OFDM systems based on the reuse of the synchronization preamble. The periodic structure of the preamble is utilized for the computationally efficient estimation of average SNR and SNRs per subcarrier, based on the second-order moments of received preamble samples. The performance of the proposed algorithm is assessed for channels with different levels of frequency selectivity. Simulation results show robust performance of proposed algorithm even in strong frequency selective channels.
7.]Performance of multi-user MIMO OFDM system with adaptive modulation and coding for wireless communications
As the demand of high quality service in next generation wireless communication systems, a high performance of data transmission requires an increase of spectrum efficiency and an improvement of error performance in wireless communication systems. In this paper, we propose a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system with adaptive modulation and coding to improve system capacity with maintaining good error performance. The results of computer simulation show the improvement of system capacity in Rayleigh fading channel.
communication systems. Result shows that in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel, the capacity performance of Least mean square (LMS) is poor while the recursive least square (RLS) shows an increase in capacity as the SNR increases. The joint channel parameters estimation in adaptive MIMO OFDM shows a 2dB SNR gain at BER of 10-5 when compared to individual parameter estimation.
