SEMINAR AND PROJECTS : #1: Seminar on Nitrate removal by using Membrane Bioreactor . Year: T.E (2011) Domain : Bioseparation, Downstream Processing Description :

This seminar reviewed various nitrate removal techniques and their application to the industry Efficient Membrane bioreactor technology its relevance to industrial processes was elaborated in the seminar

#2: Seminar on Control of particulate pollutants in air using Biofilter. Year: T.E (Diploma) Domain : Pollution control,Environmental Technology Description : Biofiltration is a relatively new pollution control technology. It consists of the removal and oxidation of compounds from contaminated air using microorganisms Biofiltration can treat organic gases Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) or organic air toxics hydrogen sulfide

#3 : Project on Manufacturing Of Sodium silicate Duration: Domain: Description : One Year (T.E. DIPLOMA) CASE STUDY

Sodium silicate is essential raw material in the manufacture of washing soap, ceramic wares, flooring and metal foils, paper boards and corrugated containers, wall board etc There are various processes for manufacturing of sodium silicate. Furnace process which is somewhat widely used all over the globe. For that process availability of raw materials is very easy as well as they are cheapest one

#4: Project on Performance evaluation of Heat removal method in solid state fermentation Duration: Domain: Description : Solid-state fermentation has emerged as a potential technology for the production of microbial products such as feed, fuel, food, industrial chemicals and pharmaceutical products As the fermentation occurs on a solid substrate the amount of aqueous phase is very little and it reduces the cost of product separation and purification. Annexure 1 One Year (S.E. Biotechnology) Solid State Fermentation

#4: Project on Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles using Bioextract Duration: Domain: One Year (B.E. Biotechnology) Bioprocess, Pharmaceutical, Novel process

Description : Green synthesis of silver nanoparticle which will eliminate costly chemical method and also help is pollution control Efficient and novel technique Selected for two International Conferences Annexure 2 EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENT Executive member of the colleges social service organisation KSHITIJ A member of OPERON- the biotechnology student s association Part of the coordination committee of OPERON and have organised a two day national level seminar on Advances in Bioprocess Technology through it Correspondent for the departmental newsletter- BIOSK Event head for photography event named Pictoria during Exelsior 2011 And 2012 , which is the college technical fest Official Photographer Of Department Of Biotechnology SCOE Pune Attended Biocrats 1, Biocrats 2, Biocrats 3 organised by Persistent Attended Chemtech And pharma expo held in Mumbai. Annexure 1 Objective: To study effect of temperature and initial moisture on moisture content throughout the process. To design proper method to replenish the moisture loss in process by periodic addition of water. It is a flask study; which will result into a technique to control the environment and increase the productivity. This can be extended to reactor level which will help to increase productivity of the process. The above approach will make the solid state fermentation more economic process.

Annexure 2 Objective: To synthesize silver nanoparticles using Raphanus sativus bioextract, optimization of reaction parameters and study its antimicrobial property. Method: Silver nanoparticles coagulation test using NaCl, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Particle size distribution (PSD), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) were performed for qualitative and quantitative analysis of silver nanoparticles. Results: Aqueous NaCl addition turned reaction mixture from yellow brown to grey due to coagulation and further precipitation of AgNPs. UV-Vis spectrum of sample gave peak in the range of 410-460 nm corresponding to Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR).SEM micrographs proved the formation of AgNPs in the range of 10 -

100 nm. Antimicrobial activity for Eschrechia coli gave positive results. Conclusion: Biosynthesis of AgNPs using Raphanus sativus extract offers an eco-friendly, cheap and benign process with wide application potential in the Medicine, Agriculture, Industries, R&D and others.
