About the Management (MANSAS) MANSAS, a charitable Educational Society, has been contributing to the cause of education to the people of northern coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. It is an off shoot of Royal patronage for education which was established in the year 1958 by the late Dr. P. V. G. Raju, Rajah Saheb of Vizianagaram. About 10,000 acres of land was endowed for the purpose of supporting education, which the royal family always considered as a means of empowering the people around. Educational facilities were being patronized by the Royal House of Pusapatis over the last 150 year i.e. Since 1857 when the first educational facility was started. The rulers of Pusapati Dynasty have seeded the patronage for education with the establishment of a Middle School on 3rd March 1857 realizing the need of modern education for the people, and it later turned into a mini University under the aegis of MANSAS. At present, it is housing 13 educational Institutions ranging from K.G. to P.G in diversified discipline of Fine Arts, Science, Law, Education, Management, Technology, Pharmacy, Arts and Sciences etc. with the students strength around 13000 and with the staff strength around 1000.

About the college (MVGRCE) Situated in the district head quarters of Vizianagaram and at a distance of 40 km from Visakhapatnam, Maharaja Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering was established in 1997 (15 years back) by MANSAS for imparting quality professional education. At present, intake of the college is around 1100. The 7 UG courses being offered are EEE, ECE, CSE, Mechanical, Chemical, IT and Civil Engineering. The college is also running 6 PG courses two in CSE Department, one each in Mechanical, ECE, Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The college also offers an MBA and MCA program. It has full-fledged dedicated team of more than 200 faculty lead by Prof.K.V.L Raju (Principal) out of which about 45 are doctorates and the remaining are Post graduates. All eligible departments of the college are accredited by NBA. The college is also accredited by NAAC with A grade by UGC and is permanently affiliated to JNTU Kakinada. The 43 acre lush green campus with more than 2 Lakh sq. ft. built up area has fully equipped laboratories, and an enviable collection of books adorning the library, digital library with subscription to e-resources and journals, an easily accessible bank, wide spread play ground, canteen and hostel facilities at a minimal rate and an accessible doctor. About the Department of Civil Engineering Under the able guidance of Prof.K.V.L.Raju, Principal, M. V. G. R. College of Engineering, Civil Engineering Department was established in the year 2009 with an annual intake of 60. In 2012, the intake in UG was increased to 120 and a PG program in Structural Engineering with an intake of 18 was started. The department from the very first year of its establishment excelled academically as well as in the field of research and consultancy. The total floor area of the department is 24,000 sq. ft. The department is having experienced and well qualified faculty members, technical and non teaching staff. The department has 4 doctorates. All the remaining 10 faculty are Post graduates from IITs and other reputed institutes in India and abroad. Among them one has submitted and three are pursuing their Ph.Ds. The department has established state of the art laboratories with excellent experimental and computational facilities to facilitate student needs and also for carrying out advanced research and consultancy in frontier areas of Civil Engineering. Surveying Laboratory, Engineering Geology Laboratory, Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, Concrete Technology Laboratory, Highway Engineering Laboratory, CAD & GIS Laboratory worth more than Rs. 75 Lakhs and Strength of Materials Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics Laboratory ( shared with Mechanical Engineering Department) and Environmental Engineering Laboratory (shared with Chemical Engineering Department) are all well equipped with latest equipment and some equipment can be utilised for conducting the experiments beyond those suggested by JNTUK curriculum. The department is active in research and also offers consultancy services to various Government and private organizations like GVMC, Vizianagaram Police station, AP Road Safety Department, Vizianagaram Municipality, CPWD, RWS etc.,.
