Russet Potato supplies in Idaho and Washington are shrinking faster than previously expected. This is due to lower pack out yields of the storage crop caused by quality issues. Washington is expected to start at the end of July, and Idaho mid-August. Washington potatoes may become a substitute for Idaho potatoes for the short term. Packers are doing their best with the quality at hand. Red, Yellow and White Potato supplies will be light until eastern area sizing improves enough to harvest. Larger sizes remain tight.
