Gammatec was established in 1981 and in 2009 became a subsidiary of the NTP Group of Companies. Initially the Company only marketed and sold its limited range of NDT Products in South Africa but, with the lifting of political sanctions on the country in 1994, Gammatec quickly and successfully made use of the opportunities presented by the NDT Industry and the rest of the world. Currently we actively export to over seventy countries worldwide. Our Head Office is situated in Vereeniging, South Africa, and our subsidiary offices in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne (Lectromax), and Brussels (Oserix), provide a high profile ground floor presence in these regions, with key distributors appointed in various other countries. The Vereeniging office services South Africa, the rest of Africa and surrounding Islands as well as the Indian Ocean Rim. Model 5131 Intrinsically Safe, Digital Leak Detector

VPAC enables estimation of through-valve leakage based on measurements made using a PAC model 5131 Valve Leak Detector together with data on the size and valve type and differential pressure. It was developed for use on refineries, chemical plants and offshore platforms. Primarily the technology is for estimating gas losses, gas to gas or liquid to gas. Limited leakage is also included in the technology package. The system is virtually immune to environmental and process noise by virtue of the advanced sensor technology. 1276 Intrinsically Safe monitoring solution for hazardous environments

PACs 1276 Series of Intrinsically Safe products include 9 certified sensors, a preamplifier and an ASL, 4-20ma output subsystem, and an IS Barrier, providing a complete AE monitoring solution for hazardous environments. These products carry an ATEX certification II (1) G D and a certification of EEx ia IIC-T4, meaning that the products are certified to be used in locations where explosive gas/air and ignitable dust mixtures are always present. These gases include Hydrogen and Acetylene, the most easily ignited gases.

PACs 1276 family of products can be broken down into two applications.

1276-1 Series
AE Continuous Monitoring: The 1276-1 series when used with an IS barrier and any one of 9 certified IS sensors provides an ASL (Average Signal Level) 4-20 milliamp output for (3 wire) direct connection to process control equipment, for detecting leaks in piping, plant and valves, and monitoring process conditions through-out the plant. The 1276-1 provides an ASL output throughout the standard Acoustic Emission dynamic range of 0 100dB.

1276-2 Series
AE Preamplifier/Sensor for use with traditional AE Equipment for inspection and on-line monitoring: The 1276-2 is an IS preamplifier which is used with an IS barrier and any one of 9 certified IS sensors which is connected to standard AE Instruments (which are located outside the hazardous area for conducting traditional periodic AE testing and evaluation of plant equipment or for use in permanent online monitoring applications.

The PAC Model 5610, 16-Channel acoustic emission Signal Conditioning Unit, combines the unique technology of acoustic emission monitoring with the capability of "trending" software to provide an excellent tool for detecting leaks from pressurized systems.

CORPACTM Short, Periodic In-service Monitoring Provides Early Detection of Localized Corrosion in Industrial Structures
The system hardware is based on a 16-bit A/D converter and parallel DSP processor, capable of high-speed data acquisition and waveform processing. CORPAC's knowledgebased "expert system" software, developed over several years by the partner's corrosion experts, takes full control of the acoustic signal processing and automated corrosion type classification. Portable and easy to use, the system provides fast diagnostics on a wide array of industrial structures.

PowerPAC Detecting, Locating and Assessing Electrical & Thermal Faults in Power Transformers During On-line Monitoring
PowerPAC is a Technology Package for detecting, locating and assessing not only partial discharge in power transformers but also thermal faults by utilizing Acoustic Emission technology. Transformers are instrumented with AE sensors covering both the tank and the LTC compartment (if one is present). In addition, other sensors (used to monitor pump current, fan current, load current, tank wall temperature and LTC compartment wall temperature) are used to collect data for comparison with the AE data during post test data analysis. Data is collected over a period of 24 hours in order to observe the effects of a complete load cycle. Results are presented showing the location (three dimensional or zonal) and types of faults.

Applications
Hardware and Software. The system in based on the Physical Acoustics Corporation (PAC) model DiSP, digital AE instrument. It operates using application specific software designed for data acquisition during field testing of power transformer and has several utilities for post test analysis and interpretation such as automatic filtering of normal operating noise and determination of synchronicity with the system voltage. Key features of this software is its ability to perform three dimensional source location and a database and grading system used to evaluate each fault and to provide a combined grading of the transformer that can be used for maintenance prioritizing.

RollPAC System for Roll Spalling Safety

During a mill crash, rolls can damage and develop micro-cracking, leading to an explosive shattering or fragmentation of the roll, resulting in serious injuries. In order to avoid these catastrophes, Acoustic Emission testing can be used in addition to current safety practices. Acoustic Emission is a technology that hears active micro-cracking in rolls. Once the cracking emissions stop, rolls are safe to move. If rolls are acoustically active, they can remain in a safe storage area until the activity stops. Steel and Aluminium companies have been using this technology for over 15 years and MISTRAS has now developed an improved system based on a convenient, pocket computer platform. The result: a straightforward, easy-to-use instrument that can be operated by just about anyone. Simply attach the sensors and power up the unit. The simple step-by-step procedure allows a user to find active cracks in a short, one-hour monitoring period. A single numeric Acoustic Emission value is produced by the unit, simplifying the pass or fail process for the roll. The RollPAC system has two channels allowing two rolls to be tested at one time and with additional set-up, the system can be programmed to provide a linear location documenting the zone on the roller where actual cracks are happening. All systems include a technology package and specific instructions for testing rolls.

1.3 GENERAL AE EQUIPMENT

Pocket AE2 Portable dual channel AE system
The Pocket AE-2 is a high performance, computerized, dual channel Acoustic Emission (AE) system packaged in a rugged, portable hand held unit. It offers all the performance features of larger, more expensive AE systems, including wide bandwidth, speed, AE features, sampling rates, waveform processing capabilities and audible AE, all in a compact, battery-operated package. The system is an excellent field survey tool, especially in situations where power is not readily available

Applications
The Pocket AE-2 can be used for many applications where portability is important. With a six hour battery life and added ability to operate the unit from battery belt or AC power, the unit can be used for long-term testing or carried into the field for short-spot inspections.

Todays aging fossil fuel plants need a comprehensive predictive maintenance (PdM) instrument to combat high repair costs, long lead time replacements & limited down time. MISTRAS has just the instrument - the Power Plant Predictive Maintenance Analyzer (P3), combining multiple diagnostic tools into one system including individual software suites to make testing valves, bearings, steam traps and more as easy as touching a software icon. The P3 detects partial discharge and/or bouncing particles on gas insulated substations & components. Ideal for detection, characterization and area location of Electrical & Partial Discharge, Mechanical & Thermal problems.

Applications
Dry Flow Testing P3 can quickly check for flow in a pipe or other equipment. Coal feeder tubes and Trona injection systems are examples of where Acoustic Emission (AE) is used to identify if a system is working properly. This is a non-invasive method for identifying problems (i.e.: clogging and improper particle size) in a specific pipe to help eliminate emission problems. Bearing Lubrication Over lubrication at a pipe can cause bearing failures. By using AE to listen as thebearings are being lubricated, proper lubrication can be detected and bearing failure can be prevented. Data Transfer and Management Transferring data from your P3 to a PC is made easy by simply connecting to any USB or compact flash memory. Trending and graphing of data can be displayed using Excel or AEWin, our powerful or graphing program.

TX-4400 Eddy Current (Tube Inspection) System

The TesTex, Inc TX-4400 ECT Inspection System is based on the Eddy Current Technique to quickly and accurately inspect non-ferrous metal tubing from the I.D. By using four-frequencies in a simultaneous injection mode, defects such as ID/OD pitting, baffle cutting, erosion, steam impingement, general wall thinning, etc. Can be detected and sized. The Prodigy 8C is a one man, multichannel NDT system for scanning most any boiler tube/pipe from the O.D. It detects and quantifies I.D., O.D., and internal material defects in ferrous materials. It integrates an improved source channel based on a new helicoidal design, improving maintenance and allows smoother movement of the source assembly inside the device, making it easier for the operator and improving safety. Safety is an integral part of the design of the Exertus Dual 120 Projector a three colour signal indicator provides the user with a clear visual guide as to the position of the source at all times. Once the source is safe inside the Projector and the Projector is locked (Safe Mode) a green signal will indicate that. When the source is inside the Projector, but the camera is unlocked and the source assembly locking mechanism is ready to be released a yellow signal will indicate that. Gammatec Push/Pull Remote Control Winding Mechanism
Gammatecs Push/Pull Remote Control Winding Mechanism is designed for winding out isotopes on all recognized industrial gamma projectors used in gamma radiography inspection. The units are available in either reel or pistol-grip versions. These are of light-weight construction and standard accessories include inner drive cable, outer hoses, gearbox and connector fittings. To ensure a smooth push/pull operation, the robust and lightweight aluminium gearbox housing incorporates two dust-proof ball races as well as a 100mm diameter gear with a cable pressure spring which provides maximum contact between gear and cable at all times.

Iridium-192 Radiography Sources
The primary use of Ir-192 sealed sources is in gamma radiography. In comparison to other sealed sources used in similar applications, the film resolution produced with the use of Ir192 provides exposure of exceptional quality which is of critical importance in the field of non-destructive testing. Sources manufactured by NTP Radioisotopes (Pty) Ltd are suitable for most types of radiography projectors. These Ir-192 capsules, made of stainless steel and containing high purity activated iridium, are manufactured according to strict IAEA standards and each source is welded and tested to comply with Special Form certification, also fully accredited by the IAEA in compliance with the requirements of NTP's ISO 9001:2008 certification. Irradiation of Iridium seeds takes place at various facilities around the world including the Safari 1 Reactor situated at Pelendaba, South Africa. NTP Radioisotopes (Pty) Ltd assembles Ir. 192 Sealed Sources in Special Form capsules in their Hotcell facilities. The Sources are loaded onto pigtails for all recognised and approved Projector brands and shipped to the customer in the Projector or in specially manufactured transfer containers.

4.3.3 Digital Radiography (DR)

Medex DR
Complete portable X-ray DR solution for NDT inspection. A digital radiograph is stored and displayed on a PC, rather than a radiographic film. The advantage of this is that the image can be processed, enhanced and communicated much faster than a conventional film. The 'flat-panel' similar to a digital camera, converts the Xray quanta directly in to charge. The flat panel is positioned in the same place as the film and is connected directly to a PC. Digital radiography typically requires lower values of kV and smaller exposure times. The disadvantage is poorer resolution compared with fine-grain film. However, the technology is improving with time. Digital radiography is normally used to inspect castings and pipewelds.

Installed Radiation Warning Systems GAMMAGATE Isotope Storage Facility Safety and Intrusion System
The GammaGate is a compact alarm system for the protection of assets and personnel. It has been designed for use in NDT Isotope Storage Facilities but may be used in any area where entry monitoring and personnel detection is required. System: The system comprises of a Main Control Unit with an ERA99-A, integrated PIR Motion Detector (Optionally remote cabled), Magnetic Door Sensor, and Entry Alarm Klaxon, Red and Amber flashing light and an in built analogue type radiation survey meter, this main unit needs to be installed inside the enclosure. This system is supplied with a supporting slave unit outside the enclosure and the slave unit comprises of a Klaxon Alarm along with red and amber flashing light. Operation: Upon opening the entry door to the storage enclosure the klaxon will sound and the amber flashing lights will switch ON both on the main unit and the salve unit. The klaxon will cease once the door has been closed. However, the amber warning light will continue to flash as long as there are personnel moving in the enclosure. The flashing alarm will cease 5 seconds after all personnel have evacuated. In the event of radiation detection the unit will automatically switch to a Red flashing beacon and give an 110db continuous audible alarm tone.

The COMPACT 2 NDT is an x-ray film processors especially optimized for the development of industrial films. By applying appropriate films and chemicals designated for industrial applications, it ensures size independent optimum image quality. As the high end processor, COMPACT 2 NDT features highly advanced infrared film detection by using four sensors for exact conformance of the replenishment, large tank capacity and the individual controllability of all processing parameters. 5.5 ULTRASONIC TUBE INSPECTION

TesTex Helix XT - IRIS
The Helix-XT is an ultrasonic based system for inspecting ferrous and nonferrous tubes from the inside. It is based on the Internal Rotating Inspection System (IRIS), which can be applied on almost any material. With the Helix-XT, accurate thickness measurements can be taken at any location along the tube, so small changes in thickness are measurable and the exact location of pitting and corrosion can be determined. The system uses an immersion pulse echo technique in which a stream of water is used to spin a turbine containing the transducer. The turbine rotates a mirror, set at 45 degrees, to reflect the ultrasonic pulses radially into the tube wall. Reflections from the inner and outer walls of the tube follow the same path back to the transducer. The time interval between the first echo the inner wall and the second echo the outer tube wall measures the tubes wall thickness. One hundred percent of the tube is inspected through a helical path, which is created when the transducer head traverses through the tube.

FRAUD PREVENTION POLICY OVERVIEW

What is Fraud? Fraud is the crime of obtaining money, other assets or benefits for personal gain by deliberate deception, dishonesty or unethical behaviour. It normally results in the draining of tangible and/or intangible value from an entity. Tangible examples include cash and other physical assets, while intangible examples comprise intellectual property, image and brand. This list is not a comprehensive list as there are many devious means of committing fraud. Gammatecs Approach to Fraud The direct responsibility of management at all levels is to implement systems and controls to prevent and detect fraud and corruption, and this forms the departure point of the plan. Corporate Culture and Code of Ethics The King Report refers to a companys code of ethics as the principles, norms and standards it promotes for guidance and conduct of its activities, internal relations and interactions with external generally accepted standards of behaviour. Measures to reduce the probability of fraud A proactive approach to create an environment that promotes honest and open corporate staff behaviour must be followed. Management at all levels, with the Audit and Risk as the oversight function, must ensure that the following measures are in place: i) effective controls to safeguard the assets and intellectual property of the Corporation. Responsibilities must be unambiguously assigned to effect these and other controls, to prevent and manage the incidence of fraud. ii) statutory and internal audits focused on likely areas of fraud, to be performed to test fraud probability reduction measures (internal controls). iii) pre-screening of staff. iv) annual disclosure of interests by staff. v) encouragement of personnel to speak out when they have concerns. vi) the training of all employees on fraud awareness and to whom suspected fraud should be reported. Material for training should include the contents of this Fraud Prevention Plan.
