1 Hour RI SAFE Mortgage Law Update SAFE CE Course Syllabus

Welcome to our Rhode Island SAFE CE State Law Course. We are excited to assist you in furthering your mortgage career and are pleased you chose Praedo Institute to satisfy your education requirements. Course Purpose This course is meant to satisfy the one hour Rhode Island specific education requirement for Rhode Island mortgage loan originator continuing education. Course Description During this course we will review the Rhode Island Home Loan Protection Act and the corresponding state rules. Course Dates and Times This course is offered for the 2013 license renewal period. In order to ensure proper reporting to NMLS before all mortgage loan originator licenses expire on December 31, 2013, this course must be completed by December 20, 2013. Course Objectives Upon completing this course, you should be able to do the following: Understand the scope and applicability of Rhode Island mortgage laws Comply with the requirements for licensees under the applicable laws and rules Protect the public by following the requirements set forth in the laws and rules Grading Policy The course consists of slides mixed with comprehension questions. Each chapter includes a chapter quiz. At the end of the final part, you will be required to take and pass a final exam. This course is timed as a one hour course. You must complete the parts in order to progress through the course. You must answer all of the comprehension questions correctly and score 80 percent on all quizzes and tests to receive credit for the course. You may retake course quiz questions until you pass, but you be allowed only 10 retakes of the course final. Your course consists of two parts. You are required to complete the parts in order. Once you have completed all of the coursework in part one, you will be allowed to open and complete part two.

Course Policies Each student is required to submit an Identity Affidavit. By confirming the attestation, the student certifies that the course work was or will be completed by the person for whom the certificate will be issued. The student further certifies that they did not or will not receive any assistance in completing the course. The submission of a completion certificate for a course they did not complete themselves may constitute fraud on the students part and is subject to prosecution and/or discipline. RI SAFE CE 2013 Part 1 Introduction: This module will introduce you to our system. Adherence to the advice and instructions offered in this module will greatly improve your online education experience. RI Mortgage Law Update 2013 Chapter 1: Chapter One contains an overview of the Acts and state code as well as license requirements and penalties. It consists of the following sections: Overview of Acts and State Code Definitions and Explanations Fees License and Registration Requirements Revocation Records, Advertising, Reporting, Investigations Penalties, Maximum Interest, Loan Prohibitions, Requirements Escrow Accounts Chapter Quiz: 5 question quiz covering all of the material discussed in Chapter One.

RI SAFE CE 2013 Part 2 RI Mortgage Law Update 2013 Chapter 2: Chapter Two covers contents of license along with place of business, branch offices, and name changes. It consists of the following sections: Contents of License Place of Business\Branch Offices\Name Changes Revocation and Suspension Surrender of License Case Study Records and Record Keeping Prohibited Acts and Practices on All Home Loans Case Study Chapter Quiz: 5 question quiz covering all of the material discussed in Chapter Two. Course Final: 15 question final covering all of the material discussed in Chapters One and Two. Course Evaluation: Students will be allowed to give feedback regarding the course. Course Schedule This course consists of the two parts outlined below. The requirements for each part are listed with the approximate time needed to complete each learning module. Please note that the times are estimated, it may take you more or less time to complete the course material than specified in this outline.
