The Salesian community at Don Bosco Beatitudes takes care of the faith formation of the faithful in the parish. There is also a nursery and High school catering to the poor and deserving Catholic children of the parish and the locality. STATISTICAL DETAILS OF THE MISSION i. B. Sunday Catechism Sunday catechism classes are organized systematically in the parish and in the sub-station. There are 207 children from std. III to XII attending regularly on Sundays. The Catechism class are organized with the close collaboration of Salesian brothers from BecchiTheologate, religious sisters (FMA & SMA) and lay collaborators.

The boarders are happy and contented. They are well taken care of by the presence of two brothers. The following games facilities are offered in the youth centre premises: Football, Volleyball, Carrom, Table tennis and Chess. The other services offered at the youth centre include Employment opportunities through Vazhikatti and Counseling when needed.

Important programmes held during the year: Fr. Montovani Football Tournament, Annual Day, Membership Day, Christmas & New year celebration, Blood donation camp, relevant social awareness programmes, animation programmes. V. CARE OF THE ELDERLY: a) St. Thomas Home for the Destitute and the Aged: This home provides shelter and care for the abandoned, aged, dying, disabled persons and destitute. At present there are 79 inmates (34 gents and 45 ladies). This home is run through the collaboration and selfless service of the SMA sisters. b) RUA Day Care Centre: RUA Day Care Centre offers solace and shelter to beggars who come in the morning and leave for their respective homes in the evening. This centre caters to 25 beneficiaries through the selfless collaboration of the SMA Sisters. VI. WHEAT / NEP: In response to the plight of women folk of this area, their social development is carried out with a few women empowerment initiatives at this centre through 250 Self Help Groups with a total number of 1675 women folk. They are managed with the help of 8 staff members. CrecheBalwadies: The Crche Balwadi offers day care service to the children of those mothers who are domestic workers, daily wage labourers, construction workers, workers in unorganized sectors etc. There are 3 centres with 8 teachers who take care of 345 children in main centre (4 units), Kannigapuram (2 units) and S.M. Nagar (2 units). VII. ANAT FARM: Various initiatives have been envisaged in this centre, such as, 1. Rehabilitation for Young Released Prisoners 2. Juvenile Services 3. Skill training Centre for Migrant Youth VIII. POPE JOHNS GARDEN: LEPROSY CENTRE & HIV CARE CENTRE This centre offers shelter to Leprosy patients. There are 4 Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, who are directly involved in running the centre who are assisted by a team of visiting doctors, nurses and a lab technician. The centre caters to 100 inmates (62 male and 38

female beneficiaries). The children of these patients are given free education, employment opportunities and financial assistance for marriage. The HIV Rehabilitation Centre offers residential care and solace to the HIV infected and affected people. At present, there are 17 inmates (ladies 2, girls 4 and boys 11). They are managed by St. Charles Sisters with the help of a coordinator. IX. ST. CAMILLUS HEALTH CENTRE: St. Camillus Health Centre meets the immediate medical needs of the sick who come to this centre. More than 45 out-patients visit this centre everyday. The SMA sisters are looking after this Centre. X. EVENING STUDY CENTRE: The community also caters to the poor and deserving children of the neighbourhood by providing better study ambience through the evening study centres.

XI. PASTORAL MINISTRY AT QUASI PARISHES: St. Josephs Church in Korukuppet and St. Antonys Church in Sathyamurthy Nagar are taken care by a Salesian each, residing at Don Bosco Beatitudes, Vyasarpadi. The lay faithful are well taken care of. A lot of faith formation activities through daily liturgy and administration of Sacraments are being carried out. Efforts are being made to make these quasi-parishes into full-fledged Parishes.
