Many cities are trying to jumpstart entrepreneurial activity. In April 2012, Start Garden announced a $15,000,000 fund that would invest $5,000 into two ideas every week. Ideas are submitted to startgarden.com. In just over a year, they've deployed over $3 million into over 140 investments that range from back-of-the-napkin ideas to fast-growth startups. MiSpringboard is a state-wide program designed to remove some of the barriers associated with starting and growing a business by providing free legal services to new business initiatives.
