Intefaith is basically, the government is going to close. They are not providing us with sufficient funds. And that's why we're here demonstrating against the closure of the hospital. #00:00:18.5# Interfaith is actually located in the center of Brooklyn and we serve the poorest population. #00:00:26.3# Not only Bed-stuy, Bushwick too. And Flatbush, too. That's correct
#00:00:31.0#

This is about the care of all of north, west, and southwest Brooklyn, if not central Brooklyn. #00:00:39.0# We have people that will travel all the way from Flatbush to come to Interfaith Medical Center. We have people coming from the Bronx to Interfaith. #00:00:44.5# Our community will perish. #00:00:47.3# This is about when you have an emergency, when I have an emergency or any one, where are you going to get the best care? Immediately. Not restabilized and then have to get on another ambulance over pot holes. This about, you know, world class city that you say we are, where are the world class services? health care being at the top of that list. #00:01:09.5# Reasons? Wall Street. I think it's about a prime property. So Wall Street wanted to do whatever they want to do. They don't care about us small people who really need somewhere to get our medical attention.

And this hospital which not only serves the poor people, also, trains residents, doctors and 25 percent of them stay in Brooklyn and serve the Brooklyn population. So basically, you're creating doctors, training doctors for Brooklyn.. #00:01:39.7# [car honks and yells] #00:01:50.6#

Protesters: That's right shut the bridge down! Shut it down! Shut it down!
#00:01:53.9#

[car honks] chants: healthcare is a right. #00:02:03.3# chants: Save Interfaith #00:02:16.3# My son was born at Long Island College Hospital 28 years ago, almost. I've been a patient at Long Island College Hospital and my mom who now is in her 90s and has Alzheimer's, her geriatrician is at Long Island College Hospital. #00:02:32.7# Sit down! #00:02:40.9# Health care is a right, fight fight fight [repeated] #00:02:59.8# Police officer: If you refuse to leave you'll be placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct. If you do not wish to be arrested you may leave this are by exiting to the right. #00:03:09.4# No Health care, No peace [repeated] #00:03:16.9# Police Officer: Since you have refused to leave this roadway I am ordering your arrest on the charge of disorderly conduct. #00:03:25.4# No Health care, no peace [chants over the Police Officer speaking]
#00:03:41.1#
