Plant area: BOILER PROCEDURE FOR BEARRING AND JACK OIL INTIAL CIRCULATION SLNO STATUS 8.0 8.1 8.1.1 METHOD: a) LUB OIL: Start DC EOP and fill up the system. While doing this if any leak is noticed, stop the pump and attend to the same. Once system gets filled up, stop DC EOP and start any one of AOPs. Adjust the throttle in the line to maintain the lub oil header pressure to the required value. Ensure the flow through the return lines from all the bearings. Adjust the throttles installed in the lines to individual bearings to maintain the flow as per the curve. Put the oil temperature controller on Auto. Watch the oil level in the tank, if required makeup the level. Ensure that all local and remote instruments are indicating the correct Readings. b) JACK OIL: Keep all the isolating valves open near the bearings. Release the relief valves at the discharge of the pumps. Release the pressure regulating valve in the header.

Start one Jop and adjust the relief valve at its discharge to develop the required pressure. Adjust the pressure regulating valve to maintain the required header pressure. Stop this pump and start the other pump and adjust its discharge pressure as done before. Stop the above pump and run DC Jop and set its discharge pressure and stop the same. Keep dial indicators on the shaft adjusant to all the bearings to check the lift. Start any one of jop and by adjusting the isolating valves provided at the bearing end create the lift of the bearings. The lift shall be between 0.02 to 0.1 mm depending up on weight of the rotor.
