INTRODUCTION In the course of technical English, we were asked to develop the topic entitled "Descent to ground.

" This topic is very broad as we could, for six months, completing the introduction. Nevertheless, we tried to ignore several areas where these terms are used (Marketing, archeology ...) in harnessing we only prospecting and exploration of oil fields which are relevant to our industry. PLAN OF WORK 1. Definition of concepts 2. Kind of descent 3. Preparation for the descent 4. Equipment 5. Selection of area 6. Wave and detection 7. Conclusion 1. DEFINITION OF CONCEPTS

Land: bounded range, which is a property. Down : Move that requires time and patience to the discovery of a medium. Exploration : All research to discover deposits or resources (soil, site or environment). Here we do not know what we seek. Prospecting : thorough inspection (of something to find what we seek).

2. KIND OF DESCENT The runs may be different criteria. Considering the human, there are: Shipping: descent group (team), delegation of a business or a state for audit or research. Descent personal: of course, it concerns an individual who conducts research in order to establish the concepts learned during her studies and to reconcile them with practice. 3. PREPARATION A researcher mining (oil), since for most of his runs do happen in cities but in the forests where he must clothe: Clothing suitable for protection against bad weather and rough terrain. Backpack: equipment for small tools and apparatus necessary for observation and sampling. Shoes (taste lasts) as on land there are different kinds of rocks that can eat away the shoes lighter.

4. EQUIPMENT Several tools are essential during an exploration of oil fields. Among others we mention: - The GPS (Global Positioning System): An electronic device to save any target taken in a raid on the ground.

- The twin: To observe the distant places - Hammer: - The magnifying glass: 5. SELECTION OF AREAS Geologists study rock outcrops and analyze samples of rocks and fossils they contain to determine their origin and age. The targets are: Cover rocks: limestone, dolomite, marl ... The reservoir rocks: conglomerate, sandstone, argillite, Shales ... 6. WAVE AND DETECTION Seismic studies provide extremely valuable information. This method involves sending in the ground of sound waves reflected from different rock surfaces. Then measured the time it takes the waves to return to the surface. We can produce these seismic waves by exploding a charge of dynamite a few meters deep, using vibrator trucks or even discharge of air at sea

7. MOTHERS ROCK OIL Hydrocarbons occur naturally in the state bitumen (crude oil, asphalt, tar). 8. CONCLUSION We trust that these slides do not go in vain but rather they serve and will serve as a template for each of us and especially for those who will turn to the department of drilling and exploration in the rising classes.
