Introduction: As man goes toward a sustainable future, one of the technology invented was the computer has been big help in companies, businesses, private or government institution, universities and colleges. All through the different stages of civilization, man has always tried to look for ways to simplify work to solve problem more efficiently and with ease. Thus, computer system was born.

Using of electronic device like Computer is the best way of recording data now a day it can automatically compute and record files in just a click. Computerization is one of the best ways to improve the current process and reduces the human error. It can boost productivity and results into high quality of output that has capacity to quickly easily manage, analyse and retrieve data. Also Computer technology is one of the main reasons why almost everything becomes so simple and easy from difficult and complicated way of accomplishing each job almost everything now is being operated and manage through computers. Marilyn Andrews (2013), Skills development should be embedded in academic programs, rather than an add-on, to give students the best chance of shaping their future. A co-curricular activity is defined as a program or out-of-class activity, supervised and/or financed by the school, which provides curriculum-related learning and character building experiences. Co-curricular activities are voluntary, are not part of the regular school curriculum, are not graded and do not earn credits. It is the intent of the School Committee by this policy to encourage academic effort and achievement by the students. Computer Science Department (CSD) is one of the pioneering courses at Laguna University accredited by the CHED on year 2006 by the CMO No. 53 series of 2006. Every academic year, the CSD has its scheduled activities and every student is required to attend most of the time. This includes orientation activity for the first year students and transferees, General assembly, intramurals, seminarworkshops, and others. Also, activities like seminars and other activities outside the

campus is one of the means to enhance social interaction, leadership, healthy recreation, self-discipline and self-confidence.

CSD is now facing problems with regards to the attendance of the students during co-curricular activities. Most of the time students are required to attend to all activities as required by the department. But as early days experience until today, the student body organization is having a hard time to check the attendance of the students. The presidents of each class or the professors assigned on the activities/events require students to sign their names on a piece of paper as a proof of their attendance in a particular activity prior to start of the program/activity. The queues of students in the registration area cause the delay and reliability of checking the attendance. Sometimes the attendance sheet was misplaced after the activities. Another problem that the department is facing now is the consolidation of the report of the attendance of the students. Due to the unreliable reports of attendance checking and unreliable checking of students attendance the researcher were able to come up with a solution to solve the problems the development of Computerized Checking of Students Attendance in Co-Curricular Activities of Computer Science Department.

General Problem:

What are the ways to improve the gathering of students data, checking, updating and keeping the track of students involvement and participation in school activities, and establishing the resume of CSD? Specific Problem: 1. What are the problem and difficulties encountered in gathering data of the students, checking and updating the students involvement and participation in school activities? 2. What are the processes in keeping the track of students involvement and participation in school activities, and establishing the resume of CSD? 3. How can the researcher help to improve the correct procedure in gathering data of the students, checking, updating and keeping the track of students involvement and participation in school activities, and establishing the resume of CSD?

Objective of the Study: The general objective of this study was to improve the current process of gathering data of the students, checking, updating and keeping the track of students involvement and participation in school activities, and establishing the resume of CSD. Specifically this study aimed to:

1. Identify the mean of gathering data of the CSD students, checking and updating the students involvement and participation in school activities. 2. Determine the process in keeping the track of students involvement and participation in school activities, and establishing the resume of CSD students. 3. Develop the current procedure in gathering data of the students, checking, updating and keeping the track of students involvement and participation in school activities, and establishing the resume of CSD.
