Health Policy Project (HPP)

Strengthening developing country national and subnational policy, advocacy, and governance for strategic, equitable, and sustainable health programming. Building capacity of governments and other in-country partners to address key health issues family planning/ reproductive health, HIV, and maternal healthand promoting health systems strengthening and program integration. Working in country and with regional programs across Africa, Asia and the Near East, Europe and Eurasia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Fostering public-private partnerships to expand access to affordable, quality reproductive, maternal and child health services in rural areas and urban slums. Building the capacity of local organizations to meet the needs of their communities. Using research to rene and improve program approaches. Promoting cost-effective and efcient approaches in data collection, monitoring and evaluation, health, and nutrition services to improve health and well-being. Innovations in Family Planning Services - II Technical Assistance Project (ITAP), India

MEASURE Evaluation

Communication for Behavior Change: Improving the private sectors capacity to provide health products and services for reproductive, maternal, and child health. Expanding Access to Private Sector Establishing an Afghan-owned and managed non-prot social marketing organization that supports a network Health Products and Services of commercial product promoters and distributors. in Afghanistan (COMPRI-A) Supporting products including condoms, contraceptive injectables, insecticide treated bed nets, safe water solution, oral rehydration therapy, zinc, and home delivery kits. Program for Strengthening the Central American Response to HIV/AIDS (PASCA)

Providing technical assistance to support national and regional HIV/AIDS strategic planning and national monitoring and evaluation plans. Supporting implementation of the national health accounts methodology and AIDS Program Effort Index to measure country responses to the epidemic. Disseminating up-to-date HIV information and data to key stakeholders through the websites, listservs, CD-ROMs, and publications.

Reproductive Health Services

Leading a consortium for an Indenite Quantity Contract covering reproductive, maternal and neonatal health
requirements, including social framework marketing and social franchising services in 27 priority countries in Asia and Africa.

Technical Assistance Support Team For India National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care (HAPAC), Kenya

Providing technical and managerial support to NACO and national and state AIDS control programs. Strengthening capacity, facilitating policy formulation, and guiding implementation to enable an HIV response
Organization (NACO) tailored to context-specic needs.

Strengthening the capabilities of two governmental institutions the National AIDS Control Council and the
National AIDS and STDs Control Program to reduce HIV transmission in Kenya.

Offering technical and nancial assistance to non-governmental organizations providing voluntary counseling
and testing, home-based care, and prevention programs.

AIDSRelief

Assisting in the rapid scale-up of anti-retroviral therapy in nine priority countries. Leading the strategic
information system component, including monitoring and evaluation, and health management information systems.

Implementing the IQCare database, which allows users to enter, manage, and analyze HIV patients clinical and demographic data.

Global Epidemics of HIV in Injecting Drug Users

Conducting global research analyzing cost, impact and policy to provide evidence for selected interventions
for people who inject drugs. Reviewing evidence-based approaches, epidemiology and the effectiveness of key interventions, and applicable modeling and costing methodologies.

Disseminating the analysis to country policymakers in collaboration with the World Health Organization, UNAIDS, the
United Nations Ofce on Drugs and Crime, the International AIDS Society, and networks of people who inject drugs.
