SPECIFICATION FOR A LOOP POWERED DIRECT MOUNTING TYPE GAUGE PRESSURE TRANSMITTER WITHOUT DISPLAY

.0 Application Type J and K grounded thermocouple sensors scattered through the Refinery Process Units are connected to SCADA via multi-pair thermocouple extension cables. The surge protectors are intended to be installed at the wiring termination to the signal input module of the SCADA in order to protect SCADA hardware against lightning induced surges and transients.

.0 Design The surge protector shall be of Ultra-Slim, High packaging density type with hybrid surge protection circuit.

.0 Signal Compatibility The surge protector shall introduce minimum series resistance and allow the mV signals from grounded type J/K thermocouple sensors through the surge protector to the SCADA unaffected.

.0 Surge Protection Full hybrid line to line and each line to screen/ground as per IEC61643-21:2001 categories C1, D2, D1.
