This position is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in the management of innovative and progressive processes and services that support students and which enhance the Law School. Role of Registrar Acts as Secretary to the Executive Committee of the Council of Legal Education. Acts as Secretary to the Examination Committee, Academic Committee of the Law School and other committees of the Law School from time to time. Develops strong working relationships with Registrars at the other Council Law Schools and the University of the West Indies and the external community. Provides support and advice to the Committees on Admissions, Examinations and Academic matters. Ensures implementation of academic policies with regard to student records, academic standing, registration, examinations, grading and graduation.
Other Responsibilities Developing and implementing a strong performance management and evaluation system in the department. Providing training, coaching and professional development opportunities to ensure all members of the department are able to provide the services of the department and are able to respond to the needs of the customer base. Ensuring that all services and reporting are completed satisfactorily. Promoting teamwork to heighten mutual understanding and cooperation and to instill a student and community orientation. Attributes of Registrar Independent and quick thinker. Ability to perform duties without supervision. Diplomacy and tact. Organized and disciplined. Adept communicator and public speaker. Confident and inspiring. Courteous and considerate. Qualifications and Experience Post graduate qualification in management, business administration or other relevant area of study. Experience in management with a record of increasing levels of responsibility. Experience and proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite.
