ThecourseassumesthatparticipantswillhavebasicICTskills,butistargetedatthosewantingtoenhance theirknowledge,skillsandcurriculumdelivery. Itwillberelevantto: PrimaryandSecondary(lowersecondary)teachers MiddleyearsteacherslookingforexamplesofeffectiveICTuseintheclassroom Specialists,LeadingTeachers,AssistantPrincipalsandPrincipals

CourseGoals
Thecourseaimstoprovideparticipantswith: apracticaloverviewofhowteachersareseamlesslyusingICTintheirteachingtoenhancestudentlearning abetterunderstandingofthetools,resources,learningcommunitiesandcollaborativepossibilitiesother teachersareexploringthroughICT clear,practicalexamplesofhowyoucouldusereadilyavailablesoftware,Web2.0toolsandlearning communitiestoaddvaluetoteachingandlearningatyourschool theopportunitytoparticipateininquirybasedlearningprojectslinkedtothecurriculumwithotherteachers fromaroundtheVictoria

Groupprojects,whichwillbeguidedbyexperiencededucatorsandaredesignedtoassistparticipantsandtheir schools.Participantswillbeencouragedtoengagelocalcolleagues,studentsandschoolcommunitieswiththe themesanddiscussionscoveredduringtheproject.

TheTeachingandLearninginthe21stCenturyprogramwillinclude:
OneinitialfacetofacesessionwithpresentationsandworkshopsatNMITinPrestonon9Augustandone culminatingsessionatthesamevenueon29November. SixonehourwebconferencesthroughoutTerms3&4withleadingclassroompractitionerscoveringtopics thatinclude:theGeneralCapabilitiesintheAustralianCurriculum,ProfessionalLearningNetworks, CollaborationandInquiryBasedLearning. Instructorledprofessionaldevelopmentincludingonlineforums,toolsandWeb2.0resourcesthatempower learning,collaborationandcommunicationforstudentsandteachers.ThesewillincludeGlobal2,Fuse, GoogleAppsforEducation,MSOffice365forEducationandEvernote. AselfselectedInquirybasedlearningprojectwithateamofotherVictorianeducators.

ParticipantswilltakepartinanopeningfacetofaceeventonFriday9AugustatNMITPrestonfeaturing inspiringspeakersfromVictorianschools.AculminatingeventwillbeheldatNMITonFriday29November. ThecourseisfreebutCRTcostsmustbecoveredbyschools.
