CURRENT PROJECT: Title: Universal Notebook Data Platform (UNDP) Chipset Verification Duration: 1 Year & 6 Months <Feb. 2009 to Till Date>

Client: Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd. Brief Profile: Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd. is an extension of Qualcomm Inc, based in San Diego, California, a fortune 100 wireless telecommunications research and Development Company providing wireless semiconductor solution for 3G mobile devices across the globe. It is the leading designer and supplier of CDMA chipsets system software, network base stations, handsets, modems, camera phones etc. UNDP chipsets are exclusively designed for wireless internet technology on Laptops & Desktops, using 3G network (CDMA & UMTS). The scope of this testing is to verify the Data Performance of UNDP (Gobi Device) in CDMA 2000 (1x RTT), 1x-EVDO Rev.0 & 1x-EVDO Rev.A on different desktop/laptop OSs, based on various carriers requirements, using lab simulators as well as live network. The scripts configured the Access Terminal (AT) and Access Network (AN) and performed functions such as HDR Call Setup, TCP and UDP Throughputs calculation in Network & Relay Model Data Calls, Ping Round Trip Time calculation, HTTP & FTP data transfer by making a Data Call & throughput calculation, Basic Capability testing, MO MT SMS Testing, Data Stress Testing, AT Command Testing, Simple IP & Mobile IP Feature Testing. 1x-EVDO technology (also known as, High Data Rate HDR) is a high performance and cost effective Internet solution which is compatible with CDMA networks and optimized for packet data services. The test scripts were executed using ASIA Test Manager (ATM), a Qualcomm Proprietary Automation Test Manager. The setup included the Mobile Station Module (MSM) chipsets which were used in the form of SURF as the AT terminal target boards. The Base-stations used the Cell Site Modem (CSM). QXDM was used for data logging. QPST was used as a tool for Software download on the MSM target boards. The test scripts were written using Perl programming.
