Your Child’s First Visit to
Adult Programs
Kids Club
Some children may immediately feel
comfortable and adjust to their new
surroundings in Kids Club. However,
other children may need some time
to adjust. We recommend that for the
first few visits to plan to spend 10-15
minutes in Kids Club with your child
and the staff before you attend other
Armed Services YMCA programs.
Please share special instructions or
concerns regarding your child with
staff and review the Kids Club
procedures and policies. We work
hard to ensure your child has a fun
and positive experience here with us
at Kids Club.
Please let us know of any changes we
should be aware of such as potty training,
recent deployment, or if it has just been a
rough day. Having a heads up helps staff
better respond to your child’s needs and
ensures an enjoyable day for all!

Kids Club
Yo u t h E n r i c h m e n t
It is tough being a kid these days – particularly when
dealing with the challenges associated with the
military lifestyle. Armed Services YMCA Youth
Development programs provide children with
positive, enjoyable opportunities to get to know
themselves and each other.
Kids Club
Structured activities and age appropriate play give
kids a glimpse of preschool. Coloring, puzzles,
music, story-time, and small craft projects keep kids
busy making new friends and allows them the
chance to develop their self esteem and
independence.
S t a f f & Vo l u n t e e r s
Parents, teachers, and students with interest and
training in child development make up our team of
dedicated staff. They take pleasure in maintaining a
structured, enriching program in an atmosphere of
fun and enjoyment. Please take a few moments to
get to know them better when you drop off and pick
up your child. Your familiarity with staff will help your
child become comfortable with the program staff and
enjoy the daily activities. The Armed Services YMCA
has comprehensive pre-employment screening for
staff members and program volunteers, including
interviews, reference and nation-wide criminal history
checks.

Policies
1. Children must be able to walk to attend Kids
Club. School age children are not permitted in
Kids Club.
2. Check in for Kids Club closes 15 minutes after
the start of the scheduled adult program.
3. All children must wear shoes while in Kids Club
4. All personal items must be labeled with the child’s
name.
5. All beverages must be labeled in closed
containers
6. Outside snacks are not permitted in Kids Club. A
healthy snack is provided to children during the
program. Notify staff at time of check in if your
child has food allergies.
7. Children are asked to pick-up after themselves
prior to leaving.
8. Always bring your child in a clean diaper or
visit the restroom with them before check in.
For your convenience, diaper changers are
located in the restrooms. For health and safety
reasons, we do not change soiled diapers.
9. Sick children are not allowed in Kids Club. If your
child has a runny nose, cough, or fever, you will
be asked to take him or her home. (All illnesses
are determined at staff’s discretion).
10. Parents must sign in and out at all times.
11. Parents must remain on the premises at all times.
12. Only the parent that signs the child in will be
allowed to sign the child out.
13. Please be aware that biting or any other
aggressive behavior is serious. The parent will be
notified immediately. If the child has a repeated
problem, he or she may be suspended for up to 1
month. Staff may use time outs as a form of
discipline; 1 minute per year of age.
Daily Schedule
• Check in and Quiet Activities - Complete the
sign in sheet and a name tag for each of
your children. Introduce them to the
available stories and games.
• Circle time - This is a time to share stories,
sings songs, and more.
• Craft - Kids enjoy creating little works of art
to show you at pick up.
• Snack - After all our hard work we take a
break for snack.
• Free play - Kids can choose from the many
toys, puzzles, and blocks we have available
in our toy boxes.
• Clean up - Kids work together to tidy up the
classroom and get ready to reunite with Their
parents!
• Check out - Thank you for coming to play
today! Check in with the teachers to learn
about today’s accomplishments. We will see
