Preparing for Gods Word

ORGAN PRELUDE *CALL TO WORSHIP: based on Psalm 29 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders over mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever. May the Lord give strength to Gods people! May the Lord bless the people with peace! Come, let us sing and follow after our Lord, Jesus! *HYMN #81G We Gather Together *CALL TO and PRAYER of CONFESSION: Forever-loving and forgiving God, when we feel overwhelmed by what life does to us, we confess that we find it hard to see beyond our own difficulties to how you are sending us hope and help. Forgive us when we only complain about whats wrong, rather than thank you for what you have already made right. When we are guilty of failing to look beyond our own troubles to the needs of others, remind us that we are to bear one anothers burdens and so fulfill your will for us. Help us to do better. In His name, we continue to confess ... (silent, personal confession) *ASSURANCE of PARDON & GLORIA PATRI *AFFIRMATION of FAITH: Apostles Creed (back)

WE WELCOME to Our Pulpit this morning Kundan Nasir. Kundan Nasir is a graduate of Princeton Theological seminary and is on track for ordination in the P.C.U.S.A. He currently works as a Supervisor at a Law Firm Mt. Laurel, NJ and is also the assistant director of Asian Christian Ministries. Kundan was featured in the Philadelphia Inquire for his work as a Chaplain and serves as duty Chaplain for Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Kundan and his wife, Kira, hail from Sicklerville, NJ. They are both proud parents of 16 month old Lana Olivia Nasir. Kundan spends his spare time with his wife and daughter, playing with their dog Layla, and working on his Ford Mustang. Our congregation has always been dedicated to a strong Christian education program for all ages. The program in the fall may be a little different than our traditional one, and for that we need some help! First we need "students". Are you bringing your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors to Sunday School? Are YOU coming? Next we need helpers and teachers. Could you help once a month or once a quarter? Committment to teaching every Sunday for the entire year is NOT required! If you are reluctant to "teach", please consider helping with various activities that follow a lesson. Would you be willing to share a story from your faith journey or a mission trip experience with our classes? If you shared something a few years ago, new ears and hearts would like to learn about your experiences. Please pray about ways you can be involved in our Christian education program and contact Pastor Paul, Ruth Williams, or Anita Ellwell with ideas and offers of help.

If one member rejoices or suffers, all members rejoice or suffer together! --1 Corinthians 12:26 Prayer Requests: Debbie Covey (Oak Gandys daughter), Brenda (Hackett) Halls daughter, Jill (friend of Jane String), Tom Buckingham, David Sickler, Georgia Williams, Charlie Hitchner, Sara Williams (Lee Williams Jr.s wife), Thomas & Paula Hackett (Dick Hacketts brother and sister-in-law), Doris Miller, Stanley Prickitt, Margie Ware, Zoni Robinson (friend of Kitty Lamb), Diane Reichert, and Jean & Frank Johnston (maternal grandparents of Patrick Sheehan).
Please note: There is a notebook in the narthex to write down prayer requests. Rev. Tuttle will utilize this information during the time of our prayers. Please include the individuals name and address if possible. Salem County Fair: We are looking for volunteers to run the booth on Aug. 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th. Two hour time slots would be appreciated. To volunteer you can contact Ed Forsman (856-7694741, cell 609-202-4803), Stephanie Ale (609-217-4964), or you can use the sign up sheet in the narthex. Thank you in advance! Our church website needs help! By October 31st we need to redesign our website with a new company since Faith Highway is shutting down. If you can help or have ideas of what should be included in our new and improved website, please contact Pastor Paul or Ruth Williams.

We give thanks to Harold Ware for playing the organ the month of August! His time and talents are truly appreciated!

THE APOSTLES CREED I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
