Course: CIS212005016, SYSTEM MODELING THEORY Campus: STRAYER ONLINE Instructor: DORMISHIAN, JOHN S Do you have any additional comments regarding the instructor?
Unavailable, inept, vague. Never contributed to conversations or suggested any direction. Might as well have taken a class with a brick wall The structure of the online courses does not benefit the student. The instructor should be more involved in the course. Lectures should be given by the instructor, not an automated robot. Lectures should be longer and cover the material in depth. 5-10 minute lectures every week are cheating every student out of their money. A refund should be given, because this course essentially is a self-guided course with little or no instruction. If the instructor had a chance to do None I would take a class under him again. Well taught class. Instructor should not assume that most people have software experience such as excel, let alone more advanced applications of the product. In my opinion the content for this class was extremely difficult to comphrehend outside of a classroom environment. I had trouble following the curriculum and understanding some of the theories and concepts behind what was being taught. I would not reco The exams and quizes in this course are more difficult than any other courses I have taken thus far. The instructor often requires specific and exact answers in fill in the blank and short answer questions that can be very hard to locate in the text or to

This course was a waste of my time, and I was robbed of my money. The only reason I am glad that I took this course was because now I can finish my degree. This was one of a couple classes I had outstanding since I last attended Strayer in 2004. At that t Wow. That was my reaction when the textbook for CIS 212, System Modeling Theory, arrived at my house. The faculty at Strayer University really reached into the back of the closet for this one. How did the faculty conclude that a text about the creation of spreadsheet models for the purpose of financial analysis and forecasting is suitable for a Computer Science course that should teach students how to model complex systems? Ok, Ill admit that there is some correlation, but the content of this course is obviously not computer oriented, and most of the techniques presented in the text are specific to financial models. Also, at no time did the instructor offer to correlate the information covered by the text to IT-system modeling. I believe that the weekly assignments should state what chapters are being covered for that week. It wasn't clear. None I think this course provided me with what I needed to move forward in this area. The book should be reviewed. It continuously defines terms using the term being defined. In numerous places it fails to define the terms at all, it merely has an example, which in turn is not very helpful. Finally, the software that accompanies the book is outdated and fails to function with the current versions of MS Office.
