ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and any other duties assigned by the Board. 1. Responsible for overall leadership and management of staff in the development and implementation of short and long range plans, activities and policies. 2. Responsible for recruitment, induction, training and staff management, also to include signing of employment contracts; planning, assigning and directing of work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Recommending salary increases; and developing higher levels of expertise in staff members by encouraging further education, participation in work-related seminars and providing learning opportunities within the organization. 3. Reviews current practices and methods and initiates development of new ones as necessary to reduce costs, encourage growth and improve efficiency 4. Responsible for the supervision of finance personnel of the organisation, including the development and implementation of the annual budget for submission to the Board. Ensures compliance with approved budgets and proposes revisions as necessary. Provides for the appropriate control and accountability of all funds, physical assets and other property. 5. The Executive Director is the secretary of the MCHC Board. Plans agendas of the board meetings together with the Board Chairman, writes minutes of the Board meetings, and disseminates information for and on behalf of the Board. Is responsible for reminding the Board Chairman and the whole Board about imminent meetings and any Board activities. Keeps all important and confidential organisations records, signed Board minutes, registration certificate, Board members CVs and approved policies. Responsible for the signing of MOUs, Leases and other relevant documents on behalf of the Board. 6. Responsible for providing information, advice, and counsel to the Chairman of the Board, Board Committees, and the Board in the creation of policies, programs, and strategic direction of the organisation. Recommends policy changes (to the Board) to benefits, compensation, employment, training and other areas as appropriate. Responsible for support of all activities associated with the Board, including staffing for all Board and Committee meetings, meeting schedules, locations, development of agenda, and meeting materials. 7. Protects organisations legal interests and maintains its operations within the law; retains 'and works with outside counsel to obtain opinions or handle claims and litigation. 8. Responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective system of communications throughout the organisation, the community to build and maintain a positive image (e.g. newsletter, informational seminars, participation in conferences/marketing activities). 9. Represents MCHC in its relationships with the community, government agencies, the media, community organizations, suppliers, competitors, professional organizations and similar groups. 10. Responsible for building synergies/networks with other strategic organizations.

Happiness is married with 5 children. She has three boys; Joy (12), Praise (10), Shine (8), and two girls; Pristine (4), and Bravo (1 year 8 months). Joy is doing grade 5, Praise grade 5, Shine grade 3 and Pristine attending ECD. Happiness is employed at Midlands Children Hope centre as the Bookkeeper. Due to financial constraints the organisation is facing, she currently works for no pay but is highly committed. Her duties are as follows: Responsible for receipting and banking organisations funds Performs the duties of a receptionist in the absence of one Maintains the Asset Register and carries out periodic inventory of supplies and assets. Supervises the issuing out of stock, recording stock-in and general stock control. Responsible for procurement of supplies, the repairs and maintenance of the organisations fleet and property. Because of financial constraints faced by the organisation, she is currently working without pay but has a very high level of commitment. Emmanuel is a devout Christian who is currently not married but planning to. He is based at the Drop In Centre during the day and at night he looks after the children at the orphanage. He is an employee of Midlands Children Hope Centre and his main duties are as follows: Conduct street outreaches Invite all street children to the Drop In Centre Profile every new and old children Monitoring the children at all times Supervising the children in all activities and at all times Ensure the children conform to organisations requirements all the times Teach children all necessary life-skills and Spiritual programmes Supervise the children in their laundry and personal hygiene Conduct family tracing and Assessments Conduct family re-unifications and follow-ups Coordination with other staff / team members Giving nurse care Teaching other housekeeping and independent living skills Conduct sporting activities with children Conduct all duties of the Matron in his/her absence Keep, maintain and update childrens register. As earlier on mentioned, he works at our Drop In Centre during the day and sleeps at the orphanage at night ensuring the security of the home and attending to the children at the orphanage. He is working without pay because of financial constraints, but very highly committed to his work.
