New Metro Routes at Noida Approved by State Government

Now this piece of news will not only bring rejoice to the daily commuters on DelhiNoida metro track but also to the potential homebuyers looking to invest in Noida. In-principle consent has been given by the Uttar Pradesh state government to the two proposed metro rail routes in Noida. Meanwhile, the two proposed routes first, between Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden (a 3.9-km route) and second, between City Centre and Sector 62 link (6.7km) will be built as elevated corridors.

Part of DMRCs phase-III plan, the second proposed route from 3.963km Botanical Garden to Kalindi Kunj metro line, is expected to be complete by March 2016. Even though the proposal got a nod after a long wait, the same has been forwarded to the Centre for approval with the state governments recommendation duly attached. Furthermore, the investment in these projects has been estimated to be around Rs. 2,660 crore. Rama Raman, CEO, Noida, who also holds charge of Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Authorities, said (sic), The file has been sent to the Urban Development Ministry for approval. Once we receive the go ahead, the MoU with DMRC will be signed and construction will start, According to the detailed project reports (DPRs) for the two proposed metro routes, the extended route from the City Centre metro station at sector-32 will offer a link to sector-62. This 6.675 km metro track will provide connectivity to Hoshiarpur, sectors 32, 34, 35, 51, 52, 71, Greater Noida Extension marg, Sarfabad, sectors 60, 61, 62, 63 and ultimately NH-24. Six metro stations at sectors 34, 52, 59, 61, 62 and one at Electronic City in NH-24, Ghaziabad border are proposed to be built on this route. The officials further said, These new stations on the extended route will benefit commuters on both sides of the NH-24 and also provide a solution to the traffic congestion faced along this path. It is expected to be completed by March 2017, Part of DMRCs phase-III plan, the second proposed route from 3.963km Botanical Garden to Kalindi Kunj metro line, is expected to be complete by March 2016. Interestingly, as per the DPR, the cost of the Metro line over the Yamuna Bridge will be precisely shared on a 50-50 basis between the Uttar Pradesh and Delhi government.
