Dr Lakshmi Koti Rathna : As we are in teaching we should keep ourselves abreast with all happenings in our stream and as well in other areas of the matter. If you have to teach you should be a student first. If you can`t earn knowledge, there is no meaning in teachingPosted: 15 days ago

Dr. C.L.kappagomtula : This is a very valid statement, but with a rider. A teacher who gloats the subject, and coughs up in the class remains where he / she has been proving the fact, that the learning curve becomes more and more flatter. However, an involved teacher, constantly adds value to his teaching material to make it more and more refined, and in the process, he / she too assimilates the newer contents. Thus the mental horizon is more broadened, and learning in such cases NEVER, EVER stops..Posted: 15 days ago

Dr Lakshmi Koti Rathna : In a class room the teacher is always in contact with the student.A best teacher utilizes the available to time to meet the requirements of all students.Semester system has nothing to do with student and teacher contact essentially. But then in a semester system we may not have that much time. But without semester system we can`t grill the student about whom we always worry.Posted: 19 hours ago

Nazir Ahmad Masoodi : Dr Lakshmi Koti Rathna Said: In a class room the teacher is always in contact with the student.A best teacher utilizes the available to time to meet the requirements of all students.Semester system has nothing to do with student and teacher contact essentially. But then in a semester system we may not have that much time. But without semester system we can`t grill the student about whom we always worry. I have completed my graduation under annual system, my post graduation under semester system. My personal experience is that my understanding was better at graduate level as compared to post graduation. In annual system things are repeated at least once or twice by a student, whereas in semester system due to lack of time things are not repeated hence forgotten quickly. Prof Nazir Masoodi. Niraj Kumar : I fully endorse the views of Dr. Masoodi. He is very correct that instead of improving educational system the Semester system has not only detoriated but has also deprived the students to get real knowledge. As a Professor of Management after introducing the Semester in our MBA Programme I have distincly noticed this detoriation. On the one hand teachers are always at strees to complete the Syllabi and on the other hand students do not find time to get their doubts clarified. Even while introducing the Semester System the Course contents have not been reduced in all institutions all over India and one gets hardy 40 Hours teaching in one Semester per subjects.

After having 40 years of teaching experience both in End Year and Semester Examinations pattern I have all doubts on the Semester Pattern contribution in raising academic standards of students. Prof. NIRAJ KUMAR lessPosted: 47 minutes ago
