Readers Notebook Anchor Standards

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.L.6 Acquire and use accurately a range of general academic and domainspecific words and phrases sufficient for reading, writing, speaking, and listening at the college and career readiness level; demonstrate independence in gathering vocabulary knowledge when encountering an unknown term important to comprehension or expression CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.W.5 Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach.

Think of something read, bounce an idea off of it. Write the bounce idea and then start your sentence ideas by saying:

That reminds me of I agree, because True, another example is when Thats a great point

Select a word and place one letter in each box until all boxes are filled. Then see how many words you can find with three or more letters, write each word in your notebook. Use a single letter on the board once (unless it appears twice- having more than in one square.) All letters in the word must be connected on the board horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Continue playing until the timer runs out.
