1.Cup Counter Anemometer (Model No- RSC-100)

Conform generally to IS:5912 The Instrument indicates the total run of wind, past an observation point in Kilometers. The conical beaded-edged cups of copper are attached by arms to a central spider. This drives a vertical spindle at a rotary speed proportional to the linear wind speed. A worm gear on the central spindle drives a mechanical counter, with 6 digits. A window for the counter, angled downwards. The Anemometer has a threading of 14 TPI inches at its bottom for a pipe to install the anemometer in the ground.

2.Wind Vanes(Model No- RSC-101)

Conform generally to IS:5799 and IMD Specification It is designed to produce the maximum torque ,relative to its moments of inertia for a given change in wind direction. It rotates with the minimum of friction and is dynamically balanced to avoid bias towards any particular direction. Consists of a horizontal arm carrying a rectangular tail fins at one end and a counter weight at the other end. The horizontal arm is mounted on a vertical spindle which is free to rotate on bearings. Four direction arms carrying the letters N,E,S,W can be fitted to the tubular base.

3.Thermohygrograph(Model No- RSC-102)

Description: The thermohygrograph is a combination of a thermograph and hair hygrograph. It gives a simultaneous record Of air temperature and relative humidity on two scale recording paper. For temperature measurement bimetal Strip is used as a sensor. It consists of two layers of alloy with different thermal coefficients. This strip is wound in helical coil to give more magnification. This coil is fixed on holder at one end, while the other end is connected to link mechanism. Due to temperature change bending stress arises in the bimetal strip which brings about a rotation of free end of helical coil. This movement is transferred to recording arm. The recording chart is fixed on a drum. This drum is put in motion by the clock working at constant rate. As a result of these two motions, graph of temperature against time is drawn on the chart. For the measurement of relative humidity, hygroscopic properties of human hair and its ability of changing the length according to quality of water vapour present in the ambient atmosphere is used. One end of the hair strand element is fixed by means of holder to the bracket, while other end is movable by means of tension spring & adjusting screw. The hair strand is hooked at the link mechanism. By means of link & cam mechanism the change in length of hair strand element is transferred to pen arm. Accordingly pen draws the graph of relative humidity against time on the chart.

4. Rain Gauge-Non Recording with Measuring cylinder. (Model No- RSC-103)

Conform generally to IS:5225 Consists essentially of an interceptor/collector of rainfall and a receiver consisting of a base and a bottle, in which the rainfall is collected and stored. 5.Self-Recording Rain Gauge(Model No- RSC-104)

Recording rain gauges are used to obtain a continuous record of daily rainfall. It consists of a funnelshaped collector at the top of the gauge and a float syphon chamber and recording mechanism just below it.The rain water collected by the collector is led into the float chamber. The float is having a central stem on which a pen assembly is fixed. The pen is moving over a drum of a quartz clock. After every one centimeter(10 mm) of rainfall syphoning occurs and recording of rain starts afresh.

6.Aneroid barometer Dial type:- (Model No- RSC-105)

A scientific instrument used in meteorology to measure atmospheric pressure. Pressure tendency can forecast short term changes in the weather. Numerous measurements of air pressure are used within surface weather analysis to help find surface troughs. It measures atmospheric pressure from 930 milibar To 1060 milibar. 7. ZEAL Maximum and Minimum Thermometer:- (Model No- RSC-106) Consists of a U tube filled with mercury at the bottom of the U tube, and alcohol over it. At each End of the mercury column, a small index is placed. The manometer is mounted on a plastic case and individual scales are calibrated both in Celsius and Fahrenheit. 8.Dry Bulb Thermometer & Wet Bulb Thermometer:- (Model No- RSC-107)
Dry Bulb Thermometer is essentially a mercury-in-glass thermometer having a round bulb at one end and the stem is graduated in degree Celsius. The reading of this thermometer gives the free air ambient temperature at a place when exposed at a height of 1m to 1.5m inside a louvered thermometer screen installed in the open. While taking a reading, it should be made sure that no parallax error occurs. A wet bulb thermometer is precisely similar to dry bulb thermometer except that the bulb of the wet bulb thermometer is always kept wet by means of a muslin sheath fed by distilled water from a bottle through a wick. The bottle must be placed a little on one side of the bulb to prevent the thermometer from reading too high. The difference between the DB and WB thermometer readings is a measure of moisture content in the atmosphere.

Sunshine Recorder:- (Model No- RSC-108)

Duration of "bright sunshine" is measured is through sunshine recorder. It is comprised of a glass canister or sphere that directs sunlight onto a card that is treated with a special chemical. The sunlight burns or chars a mark onto the card. This marking, called a trace, is measured and converted into a duration of time.

11.Pan Evaporimeter:- (Model No- RSC-111) Conforms generally to IS:5973 Consists essentially of a cylindrical reservoir with a wire mesh cover, a fixed point gauge in a stilling well, calibrated measuring cylinder and a thermometer. The reservoir is made of galvanized iron and is painted in white enamel. The reservoir and calibrated measuring cylinder is of nickel plated brass. The reservoir and calibrated measuring cylinder have their cross-sectional area in the ratio of 100:1.
